I did a solo performance of the Beachboy's 'Sloop John B' on the xylophone as part of a school concert when I was nine. Technically, not a guitar solo, but it was pretty fu cking good.

Richard Thompson's guitar solo in the middle of a song called "Tale in Hard Time" from the second Fairport Convention album "What we did on our holidays," in 1967. Only lasts about 30 seconds but is one of the most emotive and beautifully understated bits of music i know. If I can find out how to do the link will put it on later. Or as a second choice,Clapton's solo on Cream's "Deserted Cities of the Heart".
