Blackwell was 'in-post' when Day took the reins and it will be interesting to see how his 'knowledge of football' (national and international) comes into play when selecting the new boss.
I think there are some comedy moments ahead, but someone needs to send for a defibrillator to get some life back into the club. It's just taken a drastic and serious turn for the worse.

Agree with that.
I am not saying it was the wrong thing to do ( Sack Blackwell ) but after only 11 x league games he has shown he is easily bullied into a decision and has a trigger finger. Not even a quarter of the season played.
This will cost the mortgage another £100 000 minimum for his payout..
The pressure is already on - just who do you appoint?.
The successor has close on 30 players ( at least 15 are only conference standard at best ) and of any half decent on paper players they look devoid of any pace in the side and no opportunity until Jan to mix it up a bit.
Silk purse and sows ear comes to mind. You can only work with the tools ( quite appropriate in this case ) at your disposal.
It will take a magician to unravel that mess down at Giggle. Just who gets the nod will be facinating watching.

Who is the best Bury could realistically get? Hovering above the relegation zone in League 2 is a tough sell to anyone, add into that the chances of little/nothing to spend in January and you really are struggling. It'd be too much of a risk for Day to appoint anything other than an experienced man to take charge and given the situation they're in I really am unsure as to who could be the best they could attract. Bury fans will no doubt be fed stories of 'hundreds of international cv's being sent in' but I think their current situation is more desperate than ever. Worrying times to be a Bury fan. |  | | |

I was looking at some random Bookies list for the next Manager and if you look closely enough, there is one name that's about 3rd favourite across the comparison bookies odds.
What Bury want/need, is a pleasant gaffer who isn't confrontational, speaks well, and who can be considered a decent chap, you know the sort of bloke who can sew his own buttons on, and puts doilies out with the tea. Maybe even rinses his own leeks, and is good with colours!
