Pep-ism v Pragmatism
at 14:44 3 Jan 2025

I’ve always admired Managers / Head Coaches that have flexibility

That’s across periods of time and in match.
Far too long far too many have seen a step away from their philosophy is a sign of weakness whereas I’ve always felt the ethos of fail to change means you’ll fail and be the one subject to change.

Marti may have demonstrated this flexibility through necessity but matters not, he’s done it.

I also agree with those on here who feel the Pep’ism way of playing has become extremely dull.
Takes me back to when Swansealona were being lauded. For me watching 67 passes around your own penalty box when you have the ball is pure boredom.

Interesting in that article about the amount of Spanish flavour at the top table.
Will become concerning once Marti pushes us into the play offs!!!!

New Year’s Frey delight for resurgent Rangers – Report
at 11:09 3 Jan 2025

I think you’ve created a problem for yourself for 2025…… started the year raising the bar incredibly high with that report.

The Bill Werbunick line a stand out classic that had me grinning on the tube on my way to Hospital

Fair play Sir

It is brilliant the run of form we are on.
It’s also hugely annoying that I’m still looking over my shoulder as the gap to the bottom three just isn’t big enough for me. On another thread we’ve got people tipping Millwall and others to drop when these teams are actually above us or on almost exactly same points as us.
We’ve still got more injuries than an episode of MASH followed by Quincy MD and I remain concerned we’ll find a run of six defeats from somewhere!!!!

Nice we’ve gone early on CB cover but I’d like to see another striker through the door asap plus some wing back supplement ASAP

All eyes on Monday night now

I think (and hope) that Ebs will stay at Palace until the summer and then go to City

They’ll be on the look out as De Bruyne will be off, Grealish hasn’t changed his spots and Lewis is far inferior.

I’d imagine he’d go for more than £64Mill then (which is good for us and our 20%) plus he’ll have a better chance of winning top honours with City’s level of financial doping (which is good for him).

Spurs is a move I’d recommend for him purely based on geography, nothing else

One month on and he’s got even better

Some may think the lesser spotted Colback a better option but maybe they’re just fishing?

Best Jonathon since Rollaball for me…..

One of the best signings we could make this window
at 22:11 1 Jan 2025

Gotta be done

FFS my club

GET SIR JAMES DUNNE SIGNED UP

It concerns me he can now talk to other clubs and he’d surely be in demand on current form.
I feel he’s one of the heartbeats of the place and a 2 + 1 deal surely has to be done.

If we were looking for someone to replace our top scorer and best defender it’d cost millions

Sort it out Rangers!!!!

January Outs
at 22:07 1 Jan 2025

Anderson has to be the first cab on the rank - he’s totally shot.

Celar would be another I’d out but with his injury he’s going nowhere and I think we’re stuck with him

Ashby I’d send back if we have identified a player to come in

Likewise, sad to say Kenny Paal should go IF we have one or maybe two LWBs up our sleeved. I like him myself but he’s getting more and more casual and wants away. It’ll be tough to get a fee for him.

One of Madsen or Colback can also go for variety of reasons

All of these outs would really need to be balanced by ins and too many changes this time of the season risks being very unsettling. A bit like the summer again.

Let's put this to bed...
at 19:47 1 Jan 2025

Christ on a bike…… can we ever shake off this fatalism that we can’t have very good players at our club?!?!?!!

Fair play, yet again, to Smudge today.
Great performance bar one error on the run which Watford capitalised on and snuck an OG to keep things interesting

Can’t speak highly enough about Smyth, Dunne and Varanne today
Really, really good

Hope he works out and hits ground running

The sad thing is this possibly means we might not see Cook pull the jersey on again, Morrison out long term (again) and JCS has reverted to his brittle self.

There’s the cloud for your silver lining.

Welcome and good luck young Ronald

Centre back

About six foot I’d say (or has both of them which helps)

Hoops vs Hornets Match Thread

I’d definitely settle for a draw today

However, we look to be getting pulled back into the dogfight due to one shot performance and one gutting last minute goal. Shows how tight this Division is and we really could do with a home win so here’s hoping.

Despite us having this lot on the ropes in the away fixture they are a decent side.
Those who start need to be at it minute one.
That concerns me!!!!

1-1 is my feeling

QPR songs you don't hear any more

“We’re f@ckin shit”

Still get people asking me about that night away at Foolham and how that song became a thing

Thankfully, even though we’re probably that noun, you don’t hear it these days

POINT OF ORDER!!

The legend, the maverick, the genius, the man that is “one touch Willow” should NOT be mentioned on this thread.
He is in a different universe to most left backs you could mention here even should their surname be Carlos

Enough already

Kennef is alright
He’s probably run his race here; won’t be getting any cats named after him (RIP my little friend) but he’s done good for this club

Celar off?

What would you pay for him now if we were looking?

I’d say our reverse Midas touch in full effect and I’d be gutted to hear the club had paid anymore than £500k for him if we were buying him now.

Pound for pound one of the worst signings we’ve made relative to where we’re at as a club.

Those who signed off a rumoured £2mill on these deal should hang their heads in shame.

(Caveat - should he return from long term injury lay off next year and bang in a bundle of goals I will gladly eat a double dose of humble pie)

Celar off?

Moving him, his wages and his abysmal strike ratio on in January’’25, whilst he only has one leg, would surpass anything David Copperfield, Dynamo or Paul Daniels ever managed.

Shame
