Those of a certain age will remember Boys from the Blackstuff and Bernard Hill who played Yosser Hughes, sadly passed away aged 78. He was in a few other things as well |

Who has the 13 games needed for a guaranteed ticket |
| Forum Thread | Play Offs at 21:26 5 May 2024
No problem selling out the away allocation, lets hope that we get a full St Mary's given we have 29,000 home tickets with WBA only getting 2,000. |

1. I left at 7am, got there at about 11.30 after a 20 minute stop, left after the game and back in Southampton about 7.15. 2. Just got to the ground and went in the fanzone as only had time for one drink, saw 1teeminhants briefly, sorry it was a bit rushed. 3.Totally agree with you on 3. 4. I thought McCarthy was good, hard to compare with Bazunu though as we have stopped playing tight balls across the box, also he had a worse shot stopping record than Bazunu before this game, but I agree he looked the part yesterday. 5.Didn't see anyone famous other than 1teem and his brother |

It does say on the web site they are getting just 2,000 tickets |

Thats all they gave us in the League game, I would hope that we reciprocate for their visit to St Mary's |

A pulsating game at the Snows Stadium which saw AFC Totton concede a late equaliser and then win it in the second period of extra time in front of a big crowd. Now they go again on Monday afternoon at the Snows Stadium where they face Salisbury who beat Gosport 2-1 Hopefully a taster for Saints |
| Forum Thread | Everton Loaned More Money at 22:43 30 Apr 2024
I'm getting concerned for Everton, their prospective buyers 777 Partners have loaned them another £17 million which take the debt to them over £200 million. They also owe £158 million to MSP for the new stadium. The BBC say: "BBC Sport understands the club are not taking insolvency advice,, external but are considering ways of restructuring its short-term debt to make it more manageable. The club owes about £400m to numerous third-party firms, with much of the loans being used towards the building of the new stadium. It is believed there is currently not a threat of administration as the club remain up to date with payments to stakeholders such as the players, staff, stadium construction company Laing O'Rourke and HMRC. Everton declined to comment." It gets worse though "Meanwhile, 777-owned airline Bonza went into voluntary administration on Tuesday, and the abrupt cancellation of all of its flights left thousands of passengers stranded around Australia. The BBC is awaiting a statement from 777 regarding Bonza. In further financial strife, 777's UK public relations advisers have stopped representing the company after the firm did not meet payments on fees and it remains to be seen whether they will re-engage." Even if they push this deal though I truly fear they will not be good owners for Everton |

Im not sure putting a player in charge will be any better than Russell Martin, none of our players have shown any real leadership qualities this season. The only real managerial experience on the coaching staff is Colin Calderwood |

Its now a big 7 with Newcastle coming into the fold, that makes it very difficult to actually change things in the UK unless the European Super League is made a two division thing. If you only have United, Liverpool, Manchester City and then perhaps one other in a European Super League, you still have the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs & Newcastle dominating the Premier League |

Mike you turned on the manager a month ago after one of our defeats and then a couple of days later in a complete turn around changed to supporting him. I quote you from 16th April "Hate this tippy tappy bollox" From 13th April "Big fan and defender of Jack but he should not be starting ahead of Janny B or THB.. Weak management" 29th March "Ipswich find a way to win we find a way to not. Despite having more money and better players they are going up we are not. Mentally fragile" You have constantly slagged off the players and the tactics but bizarrely you dont seem to blame the manager for the lack of fight or tactics. A look back at what you have written shows that you change your mind more than you change your underpants. You never explain your opinion just have a headline rant. I agree with you we are at a vital stage of the season, but it is difficult to get behind a manager when he is the person that has destroyed a lot of the good work he did earlier in the season. |

1. Russell Martin does not have a clue what to do for the best 2. Those of us in the Kingsland north had the last 5 minutes of the game with a rock band on the stage behind the stand blaring out songs long before even the 90 minutes is up, this is what we can expect going forward. 3. Just a few weeks ago we had spirit in the fan base, now that is all gone, if we get to Wembley I truly expect that we will, have the embarrassment of blocks of unsold seats. 4. Saints fans arguing amongst themselves, it almost came to blows behind me. 5. I still think we can do this if we all get behind the team as we did in 1994 & 1999 when we rescued a dire situation on the last day |
| Forum Thread | Stoke Game Matchday Thread at 07:43 27 Apr 2024
Off we go again, win this and beat Leeds and we could guarantee 3rd place if we over turn a 15 goal deficit. In simple terms if we could turn over Stoke 7-0 then we would just need to win 4-0 at Elland Road. Anyone putting any money on that, no me neither. We just need to get that togetherness and fight that we used to have back |
