This feels like our only chance to score a goal rather than our habit of passing back to the keeper. Only I'm not sure we actually have a player who could do this?
The great shame is that Dembele won't be seen until Halley's Comet next passes. He wasn't really up to speed but he showed a lot of promise. Without him and Chair it is always going to be difficult.
I have a little claim to fame in this genre in that I wrote the short story that got bought to then create the film Event Horizon. It paid for me and my then soon to be wife to get married in France (she was French), put a hefty downpayment on a flat in Highgate and a decent car. I sold the rights so was uncredited.
I did a similar thing when I wrote another short story that eventually got turned into the film Bad Santa (also uncredited). That one paid for my divorce!
"He rejoins Gerrard hoping to help improve Al-Ettifaq's fortunes, with the side currently 10th in the Saudi Pro League after losing five of their past six games." Well he should be able to help them extend that run. Open PowerPoint and play...
In life baked beans. Grew up thinking they were the Devil's puke but now I'm partial to a bit of Devil's puke on buttery toast.
In football it has to be this season. What were we on thinking that it was going to be any better? I came off the Leeds win and Coventry thinking we'd be comfortably mid table this season. I was 5 when we started supporting the Rs. 50+ years on I'm starting to change my mind that the lure of blue and white hoops wasn't just the football sirens dashing me to death on the rocks of hope.
Even as an England fan I agree that was at least worth a review. When you watched it in slow motion they are holding on to each other but you generally favour the attacker. Agree that the 'B' team seemed to work a lot harder than our 'A' team ever does. Obviously the game changes after the sending off and they are one down. Nice to see Manning on for Ireland though.
Such an interesting interview. Conor really is becoming a great interviewer and you can tell that by the calibre of guest he is getting in. Love Warbs.
I am sure Ruud is dreaming of the day when he can manage a cash strapped lower league club at the foot of the table with most of its better players semi permanently injured.
