Firstly the idea of Barbet back on the coaching staff would be a great idea. Can't believe he is still only 33 now. What a player and leader.
Yes the snatching at shots thing is generally down to a lack of composure during matches. Sometimes we seem to be far more relaxed in front of goal and other times, like the other night, we seem to rush shots. Perhaps it is just nerves? Much like the extra touch also mentioned on this thread. There is sometimes a lack of confidence and a rush of blood with our finishing. That seems to happen when thinking and slightly panicking takes over from instinct.
We see the training videos and they mostly hit the target so I think it's a mentality thing to panic a bit and not relaxing into the reality of just hitting the ball hard and true.
I think considering what he has to work with and the level of continuous injuries throughout his tenure, plus a lack of funds and free agent players who are excellent but only have one leg, he's doing remarkably well.
In short, we are a lot better than last season but not quite good enough yet to challenge. But we are definitely one of the better and more stable teams in the division I reckon and if we can get players back and momentum, who knows?
Wasteful is the word but one thing is for sure, we're much better than Burnley. That's a game we would have lost at home last season so at least we stuck at it. Got to take the chances. Hopefully more ruthless on Saturday.
Horrific. Just shows how reckless tackles can not just end careers they can end lives. Not that the keeper ever intended this but completely reckless. Similar to Schumacher's dreadful challenge on Battiston years ago.
I would imagine he'll come in on a deal to take them up this season with an immediate pay off if he achieves it. It seems to be that he's good at getting clubs up but not very good at keeping them there.
I hear it is quite a bad one and feel very sorry for him because his pace and closing down from the front is impressive. Surely we have to think about how we use our subs because what is that... 4 games now we've finished with 10 men because of an injury? Out of 13 games.
Doesn't shy away from what went wrong. Got to solve this thing where we end every game with 10 men on the pitch. I think JS has to drum in some concentrations lessons from this one because a few players seemed to switch off at set pieces, which is unlike us. Hopefully tighten up in the next two games at home.
