That 0-0 draw at doomed Sheff Utd was the one - but our away record through the whole season was solid but not remarkable (P21 W7 D7 L7). Telling that our win at Villa Park on 31 Jan was only our SECOND league away win of the season. Our home form was awesome and lethal throughout. |

It might have been mentioned already, but its (imho) worth putting the following out there just to cling to some positivity in amongst all this pain and wreckage: - We earned 4pts from the recent Cov and Charlton games and I think people were pretty ok/happy with that. - We then drew 1-1 with Blackburn, 1-1 with Hull and last night drew 1-1 at Soton. Alright, we didn't, but I think everyone would have been happy with this decent scenario, which would have put us on 47pts after 34 games. - Guess what. In the real world we're on 47pts after 34 games. Perspective. - Yes, I'm leaving GD out of all this. [Post edited 25 Feb 9:12]

Did we remember to insert that future North London derby clause when we sold him to Palace? Do we get an extra £40M - or not? [Post edited 22 Feb 19:37]

I suspect somewhere between #2 and #3. But I'm no accountant. |

Crikey - I really thought we were through all this pain?! Or at least the worst part of it. Maybe not. Alarming. |

Absolutely this. Probably his greatest role, that and Tom Hagen. Wonderful, memorable, actor. RIP. |

Just for clarity - the assumption here being that Stockport will be promoted to the Championship in order to defeat us next season - right? Not anything else... |
 | Forum Reply | Nourry answers questions at 23:14 13 Feb 2026
Listening to this, I don't want to come across as naive/gullible, but overall I quite liked what I heard from our CEO. I was generally ok with it. As ever, so much of our view of Nourry will be tempered by first team results and league position - if we lose 0-3 to Blackburn tomorrow then the whole of this is viewed in a very different light. That aside - even though some questions are clearly hand-picked and left-field (having the pitch in a North-South orientation was a new one on me...), our CEO did appear genuine in his keenness to address a lot of issues that are important to the fanbase (injury situation, future of LR, improving the match-day experience). Got to say though, I would have liked to hear him field a question on the Eze money - does he accept that this gives us a bit of wiggle-room now which other Championship clubs perhaps don't enjoy? Whatever you say about him, Nourry does always come across as a talented, committed CEO who has a sober, realistic plan for the club, recognising the pressures of Championship life (on-and-off the field) which we're all aware of. It's not ideal, and he/the club always need to look at improving club comms and ensuring follow-up on commitments made to fans (will it get easier to get a HT tea in the Lower School End? - I wonder in reality...). But no one can accuse our CEO of having his head in the clouds in a way which was levelled at Paladini, Briatore or Tony. Nourry's approach/character seems light years away from these and that, hopefully, will be a good thing in the years ahead. [Post edited 13 Feb 23:16]

Yep - its a sad, sad situation for Sheff Wed - I don't want to intrude on private grief. Complete disintegration, rather than relegation, has long been the only issue there. No easy games at this level? There is one. A 23-team league from now on in. [Post edited 8 Feb 14:19]

Agree - this is the point (no pun) for me. The last 3 years have been full-on relegation battles for us (incl. last season in many parts). Grinding grimly to 52pts+ has sort of become part of our DNA in recent times. For the team to switch from this mindset to an outfit that suddenly rampages into the play-off places from nowhere is some leap. I don't always understand/agree with our CEO but one thing Nourry has emphasized a lot recently is this Two Year Thing - that we are strengthening and developing steadily from fighting the drop to a play-off/promotion push, probably the season after next (27/28). Viewed through that prism, last night and recent away performances perhaps start to make more sense. The Party Line imho is jam tomorrow. Jam Today is not the Plan. [Post edited 7 Feb 9:37]
