Uranium is mined in Europe in Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
In Africa in Nigeria.
In Canada.
In Australia
...and of course in smaller quantities in other states.
But you need fossil fuels also. Which we have in sufficient quantities.
You need fossil fuels in the mining process and the enrichment process.
We could import the Uranium from Nigeria, Europe, Australia and Canada.
We can enrich the Uranium here, using our own coal.
Any gas we use could be provided from within the UK, North Sea and fracking.
Nuclear technology has advanced enormously, these days we can build reactors which produce very little waste, most of the waste of old can be re-used as fuel.
We need to get a move on with this, we should have started this process 20-25 bloody years ago.

It don’t matter what the cause is, if you can divide your “enemy” they’ll be preoccupied with squabbling amongst themselves when you can move discreetly to further your own cause.

I agree on thorium, but not so much on fusion.
We may not have spent much on it, but the world has spent billions on it, France alone are spending £18Billion on the Iter project.
It is still a long way from producing more energy than is required for the process.

Not true that national grid is mostly fueled by Fossil fuels.
In 2021 40.4% came from Fossil fuels, 25.5% from renewable sources, 24.2% from nuclear and other.

Politics is a dirty game played by dirty people.
