Cheers! That was my 1st game at the Rangers, at least that I remember. What I didn't remember until I saw that was Hollins going off with a hamstring injury. Should have been warned!.

Great memories and thanks for posting. Who was the guy behind Jim Gregory? Film/music celebrity? Anyhow, interesting to see that Hollins went off with a hamstring injury. Our star may have waned (8 internationals in that immense runners -up side as well as the eventual goal of the season) but some things remain the same!

Waited 50 years to see that footage, you could see what Gerry was talking about at the recent reunion about players interchanging positions, so impressed with our movement and energy, what a team that was. Everyone of them a legend including sexton. A draw in the return fixture would have seen us as champions. Oh well. Thanks for posting that.

Unreal quality.
Just brilliant at describing our formation and tactics as well.
Yeah it's a great book.
Made me realise much as we go on about that defeat at Norwich, the damage was done in the poor run of results in the winter. And moving that West Ham game, which had we kept it in the spring, probably would have won. Which would have been the clincher.

Got his Venables book to read next.
That 0-0 draw at doomed Sheff Utd was the one - but our away record through the whole season was solid but not remarkable (P21 W7 D7 L7).
Telling that our win at Villa Park on 31 Jan was only our SECOND league away win of the season.
Our home form was awesome and lethal throughout.

Fear not. The club has revised it's original prognosis and announced he'll be back in training by Easter.

Great stuff thanks Dave. Some of the best footage I’ve seen of Don Masson playing for us I think. Anyone know who the chap at the end was, shepherding the players down the tunnel? Purple blazer with fag hanging out of his moosh!
