| Millwall v Swansea City: Match Thread on 09:27 - Oct 14 by Fireboy2 | All they were hoping for was a lucky bounce in the box after the ball had been thrown or kicked in. They didnt have 1 clear chance apart from sykes who couldnt get his shot off because of an absolutely brilliant block by stewart, who looked quite sharp in his first game for us. Its looking quite bright. |
This is a theme. When we’re under the cosh, which we are quite often against teams like Milwall and Lincoln, we don’t really concede big chances. On the odd occasion we do, Vigaroux steps right up or our defenders throw themselves in the way. It was Lissah and Stewart last night, Cabango has done it a few times this season. We’re getting credit for the football we play, but our defensive organisation is flying under the radar

Seelt I thought slotted in seamlessly and I hope it was just a knock. Lissah continuing to show his development, a couple of stray passes but overall fantastic - PotM on FotMob. Stewart looks like he will be a good addition once the rust is shaken off. I thought Yeo was a cut above and it's very exciting to have such a player at the Swans. HIs defensive work was outstanding last night - 9 defensive contributions same as Fulton our CDM... It's great to be a Jack!

Yeo and Opuku are both really starting to get to grips with things. The Championship is probably the hardest league in terms of pace and physicality to adapt to, especially when you've never played in anything similar before. It takes time and games to get up to speed (one of the reasons I think both Walta and Inoussa are a bit hard done by). Can't fault the contribution of either so far.

All at “Cold Blow lane” says it all really. What’s not to like, about scoring the winner against them, in the 90th minute? 🤣🤣🤣 |

Just is the one who hasn’t really adapted yet. It’s not really working for him and he seems a second or two off the pace. Always look better once he’s gone off. He might need a few weeks to work on some physicality and get his sharpness back. We’ve also got Iorpenda who can play there. Wonder why he hasn’t had any minutes so far?

I think Just is getting a bit of unfair flak due to the strength of the squad and the fact the other new arrivals have hit the ground running. Look how long Vipotnik, Eom and Widdell took to settle, all are massive players now. Even Tymon was nowhere near the best full back in the league in his first 10 games. The dilemma with Just is whether you give an obviously talented player time to acclimatise, or just go with players who are better right now. It’s a luxury we didn’t have with the others.
| Millwall v Swansea City: Match Thread on 11:48 - Oct 14 with 958 views | Dr_Winston | I'm not sure that Just is obviously talented. He's neat and tidy, but that's basically all he's shown so far. With the others there were always hints of more. If he's a Jamestown recommendation then obviously it would be foolish to write him off at this point, but he really needs to start making an actual difference in the final third when it comes to goals and chances creation. | |

| Millwall v Swansea City: Match Thread on 21:57 - Oct 13 by jack_lord | Excellent result. I am frustrated by the silly back heels. How did so many of those sneaky nudges/pushes in back go unpunished and how did we get yellows and they did not. So many questions. However, gutsy as.... well done for not getting bullied and weathered the storm and looked better for the rest of the game. |
The ref/officials threw in a couple of dubious decisions!
| Millwall v Swansea City: Match Thread on 11:58 - Oct 14 with 925 views | jack247 | He just off the pace. Slow to react. All of those players suffered with that initially. They all had to and did improve physically as well. On the ball he looks fine to me. Can’t really compare him to Tymon or Vipotnik, but he looks a lot better than Eom or Widdell did in their first few months. Difference is we have much more competition in midfield than we did when they arrived, or at any point in the Championship. | | | |

Just is an international footballer who has played at and scored 2 at a WC. Hes obviously a good player, as some have stated, it could take time for him to bed in and as you say the benchmark has been set, there are players who are playing at an immense standard, im certain he will get better. Ateotd its in our best interest.

People urged patience for those two and they’ve been proven right. I’m not sure why Just isn’t being afforded the same courtesy. With Burgess injured and Ronald thriving as an impact sub, he’s in danger of becoming this season’s scapegoat.

| Millwall v Swansea City: Match Thread on 17:20 - Oct 14 with 514 views | Dr_Winston | Just is 26 years old and has never played at a higher level than the SPL, which is mostly lower end Championship standard. Two of those three goals at the WC came against Iran. He's featured in every league game we've played this season, in maybe the key attacking/creative role, and has just one assist to his name. If he was getting a game here, a game there and in and out of the side like the other players mentioned then maybe he'd be due a bit more slack, but It's really not scapegoating to suggest that we need more from him if he's going to continue to be one of the automatic choices in the team. His role is to anticipate the press as well, that is close down the extra opposition player, he reacts rather than anticipates. That’s the frustration for me. | |

funny thing lads his value has gone up to 6 million check the graph out. He was worth 4 when he signed . • 10 Fouls Won: Just's technical style relies on quick cuts inside and close-quarters dribbling. Because defenders struggle to time their tackles against him, he has drawn 10 fouls in just 518 minutes of play—frequently gifting Swansea crucial set-piece opportunities in the final third. • 14 Clearances & Interceptions: For a player heavily characterized as a pure attacking threat, his defensive work rate is highly underrated. He has chipped in with 9 clearances and 3 interceptions in league play, meaning he is tracking back and doing the dirty work to lock down the left/center channels 84% Passing Accuracy: He has completed 172 out of 204 total passes in the Championship. For an attacking midfielder jostling for space between the lines, keeping the ball at this high of a rate is incredibly rare and vital for keeping possession Elite Defensive Areas (Top 25% of Attackers) • 82nd Percentile in Clearances: Driven by his willingness to track back deep into his own penalty area during opposition set-pieces, he has recorded 9 clearances across his 518 minutes of action. • 78th Percentile in High-Pressing Triggers: According to Sofascore profile metrics, one of his designated core player attributes is "High pressing". He is excellent at forcing rushed clearances from opposing centre-backs and forcing turnovers high up the pitch This is with ai help trying to understand the players value going up. He is a player on the up. This squad is unbelievable I hope it can continue. https://www.transfermarkt.co.u [Post edited 14 Oct 17:56]

Just has tried to drive at defences, you could say holding onto theball too long but Yeo has done similar, both playing high up the pitch to break stubborn defence. More than happy with his play and as said early days with him but expect him to adapt quicker than some have previously. What I like about our attacks these days even with break aways there seems a purpose to us getting the ball forward which enables us to offer support where needed, rather than pumping the ball forward and hope one player can beat the opposition backline, having said that Stewart give it a go.

I’m surprised it’s the first time it’s happened at Millwall. The shouting by the fans to suppress the anti-racial message over the tannoy was telling of the crowd they have there. Not all of course but a sizeable number. It seems he has to say things like that to fit in around those parts. Cor blimey guvnor!
