as there was some chat as to how Ted is doing I got in touch with his son David directly for a discrete update.
I had been to footy with David & Ted a few times and had some work contact with David, so it wasn't too random an inquiry.
Ted's health is, as expected, deteriorating and he is now being cared for in a hospice. He is getting great care and has all of his family with him, but further than that I didn't ask.
I'm sure we will get an update from his lads when there is further news; both used to be on the old site, and possibly this one, but haven't posted for many years.
This is incredibly sad news, even if expected. Ted had been pretty frank as to the prognosis, but that doesn't make it any easier to accept.
I told David that everyone will be devastated to hear this and to send very best wishes from all of us here to Ted and the family.
Stuart

Thanks for the update Stuart such sad news, since the first time I joined the Forum Ted was ever present and you could rely on him for constructive intelligent posts, you always thought it would be a pleasure to meet the man and discuss the finer points of the game over a beer.
My thoughts are with all his family at a very difficult time, like Brooklyn I remember Charlie posting on here who always came across with sensible constructive debate, like father like son,.,..

Really sorry to read that. I hope that Ted is as comfortable as is possible, I'm sure he is receiving good care, and I hope his family and friends are doing okay in the circumstances.

A true LFW legend. An R and a guitar player. That's a good combo.
Really sorry this is happening but you've left a mark here, Ted. Top man.
Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Very sad. Top bloke. Huge part of this place for a very long time. Always exceptionally kind in person as well. (Not sure Gareth Bale would agree, mind).

What I enjoy (still determined to use the present tense) most about Ted’s post is the way he just cut through the bullshit. He could say in half a dozen words what others (including your truly) would try to say in 500
Such sad news. I've loved Ted's trenchant posts and cheeky jibes at the false hoops, plus, as a fellow guitar player, I feel a connection with him even though we've never met.
He and his family continue to be in my thoughts and prayers 🙏.
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Thoughts and prayers with Ted and family. A true LFW institution. This place is 50% Clive's extraordinary work, and 50% the posters that are it's life and soul - and Ted is undisputably one of the finest.
I've been thinking about that Bale picture, so glad Clive dug it out. Made me laugh so much at the time.

I met Ted on one or two occasions, when I was with an acquaintance who was also on this board back in the day - Even back then he was introduced as the 'legendary' Ted from LFW.
For me, as many have said I always enjoy the way Ted was direct. Not sure are allowed to say this nowadays but I'll say it anyway, he was not afraid to call a spade a spade. Nothing gets dressed up when he posts - And if you dont like it, well thats a you problem. However there was no abuse, he didnt need to as his point had been made.
Hospices are great places although extremely underfunded (hence why Mrs Superhoops is fundraising for one with her marathon). The care is second to none and if he cannot be at home then he is in the next best place.
Thinking of you Ted and lets make this season for you
P.S Thanks for the update Stuart
