Warburton, What's next? on 13:50 - Dec 2 by Gloucs_R
By no mean is this poll meant to be a witch hunt. I am just curious to understand what the general consensus is within our fan base at the moment.
I see a alot of positives in the approach taken by Warb's to play open, attractive and attacking football while at the same time bringing on / developing players . However the approach needs us to be scoring goals & unlike last season that side of our game has diminished but our ability to concede soft goals hasn't.
He needs to adapt his philosophy as watching us losing attractive games on a stream is one thing but once we are back in the ground the novelty will soon go.
If he or another can get the defence sorted and maintain our attacking zest then that would create mouth watering possibilities for the next couple of seasons....

It may be out of the clubs hands in a way... he may want to walk himself The question is who would be his replacement. True we always seem to get someone but we haven't really moved forward since Warnock was here It seems the players still want to play for him and that is a big plus for him staying. Once that stops he is a dead man walking. So unless we looked down I would stick with him

This must be like an abusive relationship, too afraid to move on and just take the next beating as who else would look after ya It's what you deserve anyway fecking keyboard warriors, know what I mean know what I mean, his mates think he is a great chap, does his best, talks the talk, loves the R's, was there in the 70's with his mate Mclintock, he has had a hard life, it's a hard job, no money, bad knees, got to get them excuses in.
Her indoors always nagging Shut-it! Cover up that black eye you know's I love ya.
FFS Gloucs, stop asking for Warb’s head every time we lose. I know you said its not a witch hunt but it doesn’t need a poll. Its been discussed many times the whole situation we are in in terms of money, players, tactics etc.

You do, every time we lose a game you question his appointment. Its boring.
Sorry, but I don’t agree with the whole “it’s a results business” mantra. Football isn’t like having to sell 100 fridges a month to meet a target.
This is not a sales meeting in some magnolia conference room next to a train station where loads and loads of charts and whiteboard presentations are presented to a room full of bored people who then have to fill out a survey at the end.
It’s the same every time. People questioning the manager, whoever he may be, without ever offering up a realistic successor. To steal the title of last nights match review, its always rinse, lather & repeat. Never changes.
So, rather than always asking how about answering.....
If not Warburton, who should do the job?
Who is going to come here without the intention of merely rinsing the club out of a three year contract and a pay-off after 18 months of shite work?
Who is going to come here with little money to spend?
Who is going to turn over a conveyor belt of youth players like Eze to keep the club going whilst expecting to get the club in a shout of the play offs whilst selling all the best players, if we have any of ability to sell, on a regular basis?
If people want to complain about the current incumbent then at least offer up a successor and what merits they have to meet the criteria.

Southampton, Burnley, Brentford, and Norwich (among others) are similar sized clubs who are currently reaping the benefits of putting results aside for a bit for the sake of financial stability and investment in infrastructure over in vogue managers and YouTube footballers. Southampton were in League One playing Walsall and Rochdale in 2011.
We can be the Burnley of 2030 if everyone can just sit on their trigger finger for a bit.

Football is a results based business Juzzie. Of course it is. Ask any football manager. You can hit targets off the pitch but unless you're successful on it then you'll be under pressure. That's why managers get paid the massive salaries they pick up.
As I have said on another thread, I personally think he needs a better coaching team around him. I've never been convinced by Eustace and would love to know how effective the coaches we have are. I suspect someone like Clint Hill would be a great assistant for him.
If he goes at the end of the season, I would consider interviewing Pearson, Bowyer, Adkins, Powell, Neville and Wagner. Obviously depending on budgets.
Personally would have liked Hughton before he went to Forest.
