So we're clear, I'm not suggesting it'd be a good idea.

| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

No thanks - was great for us in his first stint but I wouldn't go back for a third time. I know he's an emotional guy and we all love him for that, but in the last few years he's been a little bit on the edge of that in my opinion. And he had his fair share of non-winning runs too (as mentioned, we change managers but actually not much changes...) Would have Penrice back though.

Cat, pigeons. Pigeons cat. on 11:49 - Dec 23 with 4689 views | bosh67 | I love Ollie. He is a legend here, always will be but even if the job became available he would have to be beyond nuts to take it and I think even he would admit he's not the answer. We have the right manager from the point of view of where we are financially and someone who understands finance. He has to become a much more aggressive manager this season in terms of grinding out results. We've lost so many top end of this league players and a Prem one over the last season and a half and had to replace them with Championship virgins. I can't think of another manager who would change much about where we are and keep the club financially sustainable.

I can't say I'm surprised at this outcome. Ollie was a dead man walking once he posted that open letter. No manager is bigger than the club and discretion is a key ingredient to a strong relationship with the board. [Post edited 23 Dec 2020 12:14]

Indeed. Ollie's candour was a charming trait 20 years ago but in recent times it has spun out of control.

I’d rather have Billy Smart, at least he knew how to run a circus.
