He’s often forgotten about I think any good memories ? Another keeper I’ve thought about whilst writing is seb dystra another forgotten keeper

Poll: Now it’s slightly clearer cut who do you want as manager ?

We beat Aston Villa at home and all I remember about that match is Sommer making an endless string of impossible saves.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Sommer was pretty ropey I think but he followed some tough competition (I don't include Ludo in that though)

What I always remember about Jurgen who wasn't German is the article he did after Cantona scored during Part One of Blind Date on ITV as it was so late.
He basically publicly said the League was crooked as they were doing all they could to ensure teams at the top like Man Utd stayed at the top and their agenda was to keep them winning. He got a big fine from the FA IIRC but the man was right.... still is.

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

On a beautiful sunny spring day - Jurgen Sommer is not the first thing I was thinking of

Terrible keeper bar that home game against Villa where he was Banks/Yashin/Zoff combined for 90 minutes.

About the time we signed him when Ray Wilkins was doing his trolley dash with the Les money, we could have picked Kasey Keller up from Millwall for less money.

Saw him on the tv last year, he was coaching at the University of Indiana. Don't know if he's still there.

One of the best goalkeeping displays I’ve ever seen at Loftus Rd. Shame it was a one-off, but he definitely won us the three points that day.

He was in goal for Columbus Crew when I lived in Ohio and had a season ticket for them. He was a better standard than many of the keepers in the MLS at the time. I spoke to him at one one game and he had fond memories of QPR.

One swallow dive never made a Sommer, as the old keeper manuals used to say

...and Ferguson claimed that it was Sommer's time-wasting that justified the seemingly endless Fergie time.

Then, when he was truly knackered, he signed for the New England Revolution, where I spoke to him and found he still had fond memories of QPR.

He was dog shit and it's ridiculous QPR couldn't get a decent keeper in that first division/Premier League era after Seaman left in 1990 until... probably, well I dunno really, Paddy Kenny?

No, but I was there when they played Lothar Matteus' Bayern Munich. Almost filled the stadium as a result of all the German heritage Ohioans.

I seem to recall being at the City ground 1996 for our final game In the Premiership, I think we lost as usual In any case we were already relegated out of the Premiership or whatever It was called back then.
Anyway never mind all that bollox, at the final whistle he turned round to us QPR fans and threw his gloves Into the crowd (Rangers fans) somebody In the crowd grabbed them and threw them back at him, to me and my sense of humour I thought that was fcking funny.

Some daft things you never forget.

Tough season that was

I bet he didn't catch the gloves when they were thrown back at him.

I remember us signing him and wondering why we didn't go after someone like Nigel Martyn. I seen a lot of matches on sky and everytime he conceeded a goal he looked to have all the coordination of a giraffe trying to climb a tree.

Bolton away. Dichio gave us the lead with about 15 to go, and Sommer won the game with a blinding save from a deflected shot in the last minute. Never forgotten it.

I met him once outside the ground back in the day.
After a match he wasnt involed in. Around the Christmas time. Realy nice person talk too. He missed home.
Respect the players who make our history.

Gerry's persistent picking of liability Tony Roberts ahead of Big Jan a rare blindspot of his.

Indeed. It was a mystery to me why Roberts was being picked. That team could've achieved so much more if that liability hadn't been between the sticks.
