| Andy Burnham 11:09 - Oct 8 with 10588 views | Boundy | Will possible exceed Starmer as being the worst PM we've ever had , todays announcement by him on X @andyburnham Andy Burnham @andyburnham "I know people are worried about fuel prices. And I get it. You get to the pump, watch the numbers climb, and wonder why it's costing so much more than it used to. The reality is that global events are pushing up costs, and families here at home are feeling the impact. But I won't accept that there's nothing I can do to help. That's why from today, you'll be able to see petrol and diesel prices on Google Maps, compare nearby stations and find the cheapest option before you fill up. It's a small change, but if there's a practical way to help people keep more money in their pocket, I'll do it." | |

Can't celebrate letting in 10s of thousands people of unknown background. This country is a gutless. Just buy a few hundred coastguard boats and pick them up and return then them to the unsafe country that is France. We send 10s of Billions to Ukraine but we can't manage the English Channel, we are all being played big time.

| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

The scbeme was nipped in the bud. But an interesting question is: how many went to the Republic of Ireland when they heard the policy was coming in? The Irish Government was certainly in a panic.

It is if we had the guts. We could have gone ahead with the Rwanda scheme if we had our interests at heart. Who's going to cross the channel to end up I. Rwanda? [Post edited 30 Oct 20:59]

Tiny numbers of people and unworkable. I go back to my original point that people who can’t say a 40% reduction is a good thing is ideological. Those who want warships in the ocean and gun turrets across the south coast need to come to terms with that fact that it won’t happen no matter who they vote for. Because it’s a bit mad.

It just gets worse. Mahmood has some good headline policies, but the PLP will make it impossible to get a real grip on the problem. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news

These are terrible. Reducing the number of entrants by 40% is a good thing. Both thoughts are possible. At no point have I supported illegal immigration.

You avoided the question, how many more of these do you want to let in?

None. But it is far more difficult to achieve than many of our politicians pretend and 40% reduction is a good thing. Taking the stance that no measure is good until that figure I zero is an admirable target but not realistic. I’d bet if Reform were in power and in their first year they knocked thousands of the figure, many of those disparaging Labour would be shouting it from the rooftops. It’s no secret what I think of Reform, but I will say they have challenged the establishment, given a section of society a voice and encouraged more people to show and interest in politics. These are good things. It’s a shame that some can see no good in a 40% reduction in boat crossings. [Post edited 30 Oct 22:37]

I agree none, bearing in mind we have people chucking their passports and documentation into the sea the only logical conclusion is to stop them all or at the very least refuse entry to anyone we can't verify. The 40 percent reduction is on a crap process that lets in terrorists and rapists like the case I posted. The process has to change, I cant be pleased about anything about it, to do otherwise would be to tolerate the intolerable.

I agree it’s intolerable but the idea that a huge reduction cannot be called a good thing because it’s not zero seems to me to be a bit unrealistic. Unfortunately I don’t think zero is even possible but we need it as an aim and continue to move in that direction.

Andy is pressing ahead with a likely PSP deal on alignment of standards for foods and agricultural products. It is reported that a draft agreement statement is being circulated, One leaked passage reads as follows: 'We agree that the UK's participation in parts of the EU's internal market requires an appropriate level of financial contribution towards reducing economic and social disparities between the regions of the EU that reflects the degree of the UK's participation in the EU's internal market'. This means contributing to EU development funds - just the kind of thing that makes some of us worry about how much we would actually gain. Another rumoured element of the deal would be the lowering of UK university fees for EU students to the UK student level (which universities say does not cover costs). Overall this does not look like a great deal.

I can see that. Although many Brexit supporters were ok with being part of the single market which has for a long time had a financial contribution element. Can’t have both. I would like to see what amount we ‘re talking about but I am in favour of alignment in food and agriculture alignment.

EU re entry mission creep nothing more nothing less. The problem with Fabians is they don't listen to others they pursue their goal by taking the long road. The Labour ( Fabian) party takes the name from the Roman general Quintus Fabius Maximus Verrucosus . He refused to take on the Carthaginians head on in a battle. He knew they would lose instead he developed the slow approach of hit and run tactics scorched earth and the gradual wearing down . Result Hannibal was eventually defeated . This is what the labour party are doing , reversing Brexit by stealth slowly but surely against the democratic will of the people little by little chipping away without mandate . Burnham is more dangerous than Starmer as he is carrying out the mission that Starmer was too timid to complete . A liar who is pursuing idealogical goals that have complete disregard for the wishes of the British people . We are either fully in or fully out of the EU there is no halfway house that argument is for the birds . We are out and that means out- no one least of all an ex Mayor without mandate chosen by the PLP - (that kind of gives away where his true loyalties lie) should ever have the audacity of telling us otherwise.
