The 'please not mark Hughes' thread 18:48 - Jan 8 with 6173 viewssevenhoop

As a 44 year season ticket holder I've seen most things but this sacking is an absolute outrage. Warnock's paying for the miracle of taking a poor team up and then having been shafted the whole pre season by briatore. Anyway other threads dealing with that.

But please Mark Hughes. Miserable, sour faced cheating bastard and I have in good authority could not be bothered to turn up for much of Fulham's training sessions. Please not him. Crap football will follow with none of the spirit engendered by Warnock. I'm stunned and gutted.

I don't understand this. Did well with Blackburn and Fulham, neither of whom have been as good since he left - clubs of similar size with a similar budget to us.

agree with Clive, he's a very good manager. Hughes or Holloway for me.

Hughes isn't a bad manager. In fact i'd be very happy with him. Who else is available? Steve Bruce.

Not many who saw his Blackburn side in action would have credited them with a 'good football style'

Not many choices but I would prefer him to Zola.

he wouldnt win any personality contests , but a manager with a good record and experience at this level, could be a good shout.

It is a results game....we aint getting results & the performances have been average to say the least. NW sacked, on the cards.

Hughes should be able to keep us up in the Premiership & I am sure the new Manager has already been sorted. We need players quickly so I am confident we will get our man very soon.

Warnock will always get our thanks and respect for what he's done for our club.

I think his statement shows that although he's gutted, he realised that he was out of his depth. He seems to have taken it on the chin and will remain on good terms.

We were in freefall and yesterday's result was the final nail. Something has to change. A new manager has transformed Sunderlands season... let's hope the same for us!!

Curbishly or Hughes

If the new manager had to have won something there wouldn't be many candidates.

I'd like Hughes - good record at other clubs.

Hasn't he also worked with SWP and Barton when he was at City?

I for one wouldn't object to Mark Hughes appointment. Although I'd love to know what Alan Curbishly is doing now.

He signed Samba didn't he? Quite an interesting angle on all this.

Don't see how Curbishley is an improvement on Warnock, the guy has always struck me as something of a pathetic creature, not sure why.

THANK YOU Northern. He has a great great record at clubs like ours, would be a brilliant appointment.

Everybody want us to sign Samba - and i know i've said it a billion times now - Hughes bought Samba for 500K!
