Just absolutely pasted us on Sky

"Mess on & off the pitch"

Fernandes "biggest joke Chairman in League...should keep his mouth shut"

Speaking the unspeakable truth...or someone who's lost his sources at the club? Discuss

Poll: Best hug a stranger / fall down five rows / 'limbs' late goals this season

Amit was chairman when we were promoted and SHOULD have remained so. Fernandes let his ego get the better of him in replacing Amit when he clearly knows nothing about football.

Ridiculous. Maybe we should blame TF for not running the ball out of play, or maybe TF didn't get goal side and committed the foul in the 93rd minute or was it TF who got sent off for a ridiculous challenge in the first half....

No but it is him that has overseen all of this, appointed the people making the decisions, set the ethos of the club, set the strategy of the team building. You talk about Mark Hughes - who was it that sad "he interviewed us"? The buck stops with the man in charge. You don't get relegated because of one fcking goal from Wigan, relegations are built in the same way as promotions are. Nobody has ever been unluckily relegated. Nobody has ever had a great team and played really well all season and put a load of points on the board and then conceded one dodgy goal at the end and been relegated. Fernandes and his board have got a load of things badly, badly wrong. It's been done out of naivety rather than maliciousness, as was the case with previous boards, so they've been given the benefit of the doubt and that's fine and I feel the same.

But like I say, the season ticket prices for next season are a big moment.

TF has presided over a losing outfit at Caterham and repeated the trick at QPR.

Unusual for you Clive. Agreed he has made mistakes, but he has appointed two experienced football managers and given them the money to buy the players they have needed.

Quite right. All the people who have been blamed - Hughes, Rigg, Beard? All appointed by Fernandes to develop his vision of the club. No one person is to blame, but Fernandes must shoulder a huge chunk of the responsibility.

Which is why people, including me, are giving him the benefit of the doubt. But we are where we are because the board has been crassly naive. They've put their trust in people who have taken them for a ride, and they haven't recognised that soon enough.

I suspect that the ticket prices upon relegation will really highlight just how little clue they've got and the tide will then turn against them. Hope I'm wrong.

We haven't been unlucky this season by any stretch of the imagination. We've been fcking awful from minute one.

What ever happened to the chairman questioning signings or the chairman wanting answers from the manager when the winless streak continues?
Even after the tenth game without a win, he was still saying that we were unlucky and that the manager would turn things around - utter madness.

TF must take the lions share of the blame as he is the man who signs the cheques and our main problems from here on are financial.
If we don't come straight back up next season, that scandalous debt he's saddled us with will almost certainly cripple us as.
People talk about Blackburn being poorly run yet their financial affairs/wage bill haven't been in the same stratosphere as ours.
Lets hope the Mittalls are willing to continue throwing their money away if/when TF pulls the plug.

Not just his money and there's more to being a chairman than that. No manager should interview the chairman and the board should question any unreasonable targets the manager suggests. It doesn't take a football genius to work out that Bobby Zamora is past it, Andy Johnson is made of paper, Shaun Wright-Phillips has never set the world alight, Rob Green is prone to gaffes, Arsenal don't sell decent youngsters (Traore) and Anton Ferdinand is a liability. Every single one of these signings should have been vetoed. Signing these players was lazy management and naive chairmanship.

Tf can be blamed of naivety and inexperience only imo.

He trustred 'professionals' (cough, cough) to do their job.

Really dont understand the vendetta against him.

Technology advances, unfortunately humans do not.

It's his job to ensure he surrounds himself with professionals and let's someone knowledgeable take the reins whilst he beds in. Instead he craved publicity and celebrity. I hope he's as good as his word and steps down as chairman next season.

Fernandes was a fool for letting Hughes interview the club - what the hell was that all about? He realised he had screwed up by offering Hughes and his mates inflated contracts on stupid terms. He was hoping that he wouldn't have to sack Hughes because of the massive pay off owed to Hughes and his staff so he stubbornly held on and ended up sacking Hughes when it was too late.

I remember Phil Beard at the start of the season saying 'relegation was not an option' - bloody idiot!

Agreed
Everyone is hurting and gutted right now. Pointing fingers helps nobody. They've made mistakes but them pulling out scares me. When in league one etc we were crying out for someone like Tony.

Lets hope they learn from this and implement genuine change and planning.

Its not a vendetta at all! He's gambled the clubs long term future for short term success.Going down isn't the be all and end all if your finances are manageable.
Ours clearly aren't and we're going to have to sell the only decent players we have to pay the interest on the bills.
He's fcuked up majorly and if we go out of business will you still feel the same way about him?

Pulling out is a different kettle of fish to TF standing down as chairman. He can remain on the board by all means but give someone else a crack. Even young Amit did a better job.

No, we weren't crying out for a chairman who buys a premier league club, gets them relegated and lands them with a huge debt.

He should have left us alone, Bernie and co who were desperate to sell, would have been forced to sell to Mittal.

Is there any evidence that the Mittals were ever seriously interested in buying? They had their opportunity and didn't take it.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Yes they put in an offer. Bernie and Flavio were looking for a mug to pay over the odds and found one in TF.

Prices will increase.

We've been a terribly run club for years now. Smith is 100% right, it's mental what we did in January, time will tell how big the effects are

We've been totally profligate in the last 4 transfer windows, add in the 4 years of firefighting before that and it's no wonder we are in our current position.

Hes said he will be ok. He has the bucks.

Hes the one pushing for a new ground,

hes the one who has the new training ground on the go,

Hes the one who wants to promote youth in the club,

Hes the one looking to the future of this club, not trying to make a fast buck.

Why the fk would fans be against this?

3 yrs ago we were finished, it was game over, and her we sit in the prem with a man who wants to transform the club. Yes mistakes have ben made, but why the fk the need to hound him out? Do you really want to go back to how we were?

I think some are forgetting how lucky we are.

'crassly naive' is crassly unfair. and very easy to say in hindsight.

Hes said he will be ok. He has the bucks.-He's not likely to say he's skint now is he,the vultures are already queuing up to do another number on him.

Hes the one pushing for a new ground,-Only if we're in the premier. We will struggle to fill LR in the championship

hes the one who has the new training ground on the go,-Can't see this being a priority with the huge debts/wage bill he's created.

Hes the one who wants to promote youth in the club,-Thats why he allowed previous managers to go out and spend stupid money on injury prone oaps.

Hes the one looking to the future of this club, not trying to make a fast buck.
He may not be trying to make a fast buck but he's potentially put the future of our club into serious doubt. If we are liquidated will you still say "oh well he meant well"?
For a top business man he's been incredibly stupid and unprofessional.
If he stays and writes off the 150/250 million he's put us in debt then great but if he don't we're gone.
