The Official Chelsea v Swansea City Matchday Thread on 16:44 - Sep 13 with 1967 views | Dr_Winston | Always going to be a tough game. Played well for 45, but have been outclassed in the second half. Lack of options in midfield haven't helped (not sure why this is suddenly news; our need for a DM has been obvious since Canas was blacklisted), but anything from this game would have been a bonus. Need to bounce back next week now. [Post edited 13 Sep 2014 16:47]

| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

The Official Chelsea v Swansea City Matchday Thread on 16:42 - Sep 13 by magicdaps10 | Totally shapeless in midfield..........feel sorry for the back four who are having no protection. Im not saying we can beat the likes of Chelsea in their own backyard but this game as highlighted the need of someone with discipline who is able to play the specialized posistion of DM. |
There have been signs before but it's a prime example of how Ki and JJS will get rinsed by good quality players. One of them alongside Leon or the like works. Those 2 don't
The Official Chelsea v Swansea City Matchday Thread on 16:46 - Sep 13 with 1860 views | snork44 | We have got beaten by the Premier league champions elect,no doubt about it! But you have got to remember we are a very good side! Two weeks ago Chelski beat an excellent Everton side at Goodison, so let's get a little bit of perspective!

You have to question why he's being made to play as a defensive midfielder when his best position is as an attacking midfielder. We know the answer to that though, it's because we have so few midfielders we are having to play people out of position.

We should at least put a fight up, but near the end we shown spirit. I'm just worried about having to play Southampton next and we all know how we've faired against them in this league. Still, we beat Norwich last season and they were our bogey side.

I do and in my sad world, life has got a whole lot better (Cardiff going 3-2 down) I didn't expect anything from today and don't expect anything from our other away games at the top 7, Arsenal, Liverpool, City, Spurs and Everton to come. DYSS was quite right in a reply earlier that we shouldn't go to these places with a defeatist attitude and have a go which we have done. Where I want to see a big difference from last season is our home form against the top 7. We should aim for at least 2 wins, giving us 9 points as opposed to last seasons paltry 2. Onwards and upwards.

I think we all knew that before it started but we didn't have any choice. Ki, Jonjo & Siggy are ok until they come up against a physical midfield like Ramires & Matic

(No subject) (n/t) on 16:37 - Sep 13 by Zut_Alors | Without Jonjo last season, I honestly think we'd have gone down. I know he's not everyone's cup of tea, and there's times when yes he does need to come off early (perhaps his fitness is an issue, I wouldn't contest that), but to call him a disgrace is just not on and shows you up for the troll you are. |
Good god, I agree with one of his comments and he thinks he some kind of Oracle!! Shelvey is a decent player, still young. But he's no CDM. We've not much choice there right now though. We've been taught a lesson this last hour, we need to learn from it. We are too lightweight at DM, but we all knew that. Leon is half Shelveys size, but twice the DM. Fernandez needs a run of games, can hardly blame him for being slow out the gate today. And oh boy, did we need Bony for the set pieces, defending them that is. I reckon he'd have stopped Costa at least once today.

The Official Chelsea v Swansea City Matchday Thread on 16:49 - Sep 13 with 1759 views | Zut_Alors | Sometimes you just have to concede that the other team have just had a great game. In attack, Chelsea look almost unstoppable. Lots of positives here and the only shame is that we let our heads drop a little after their 2nd goal.

The Official Chelsea v Swansea City Matchday Thread on 16:47 - Sep 13 by Jackfath | Do you think Gylfi has something to do with this? |
I do. Gylfi is a far superior player hence he's the first choice attacking midfielder. Ki is an excellent central midfielder. Shelvey is not. Shelvey and Leon would work. Ki and Leon would work. Shelvey and Ki will not. Neither have the defensive capabilities.

The Official Chelsea v Swansea City Matchday Thread on 16:49 - Sep 13 with 1730 views | magicdaps10 | Jonjo is without doubt better further up the field where mistakes are not punished and where he can score goals. Jonjo at home to Liverpool proved that he cannot play the DM role. He has ability on the ball, the passing range and the physicality BUT he holds the ball to long and can play silly passes.
