Are we careering out of the EU then?

I think if May announces she will step down in 3 months, then there's a chance of the bill passing Parliament, then a delay granted by the EU for 3 months while all the other stuff has to be passed. Finally leave 30th June. Then the real fun starts with negotiating the trade deals with the EU (environment, finance, fishing, science, health, defence etc, etc, etc,). This is only the start of the process, and needs to be completed within 2 years of us leaving

However, anything is possible still, so what I've just posted will probably be garbage within the hour.

Will mps vote to pass the same bill just because TM steps down then? Or do you mean her replacement will get amendments to the bill?

The UK could well end up getting dumped out.

Of course the important votes / events get on the news in Europe but only because the various 24 hour news channels have got air time to fill.

The point being that it's very contentious and on everyone's mind in the UK whereas nobody in Europe really cares about it one way or the other. Other countries have their own business to think about without bending over backwards to please the UK

Europe could discard the UK like yesterday's fish and chip paper and it would hardly register the slightest ripple on opinion poles.

UK MP's haven't taken this into account, they've got far fewer bargaining chips than they think they have.

It's been heavily reported that most of the rebel Tory MPs want her head as the price for voting in favour of the bill. However some of the diehards might still not vote for it, and some remainer Tories might still vote against it. Then you've got the DUP wanting another bribe to vote for it (allegedly).

Oh and the Bill needs to be reworded so as to able to be voted on now (That was The Speakers ruling).

Nope June the 30th at the earliest, if the bill is passed. They've said so this weekend, and May it's being reported has already written a letter asking for an extension.

Theresa May is out of control.

PMQs showed her at her worst, unprepared to countenance other MP`s points of view, blaming everyone but herself, totally inflexible and isolated, out of step with her Deputy even.

Her statement tonight should be interesting in light of Tusk`s announcement this afternoon.

Statement from May confirmed for 20.15 so must be either....

1) Stepping Down

2) General Election

3) Second Referendum

4) Aliens Have Landed

I'm going for 4

Corybyn has stormed out of a meeting with May because the Independent Group were present.

Nice one JC 😲

Yeah, trap set & he fell for it. He is technically correct tho, the group of Independent MP's are not a party, and it was meant to be a meeting of party leaders.

Do find it strange you'd meet the leaders an hour before giving a statement that was prepared hours ago.

PS How many times did she use "I" in that statement?
