| Reading v Swansea City : Sky Bet Championship 21/22 MATCHDAY THREAD on 19:15 - Apr 18 by onehunglow | I have pledged not to comment regarding RM as an individual .I will stand by that although it's hard not to feel indignation over his scandalous comment about us not being a proper club. That He is the one to make us such shows massive arrogance. We have always been a proper club;fans are decent and have been through a lot. My ol man died this week 5 three years ago.At 93 ,he was still fuming amongst the pain of the bowel cancer and he was always complaining.Never happy.A proper fan. He look me to my first game in 1958 and I sat on his knee amongst proper fans in a proper old rickety centre stand with a bag of boiled sweets to gorge myself sick on.The fans around us were hard working working class proper folk who wore a collar and tie and a Mackintosh to games after they d worked that morning in the foundry, pit, steelworks, factory. I read of some Brighton vegan who used to play for Norwich City and won nothing in his career now basically saying we are nowt more than trailer trash until HE changes us. People can either be taken in by this or not.If they are, then the storm that will come will engulf them. It's just as well I am clearly on a yellow card on here and I dont want the trolls to win and seeing me go for good. I love my football club and the current situation upsets me deeply.People in Australia,NZ ,USA ,China,Gibraltar will all feel this indignity ;few will manifest their feelings on a forum such as this. |
Sorry to read that OHL, brings a lot of things into perspective when things like that happen and not nice when the anniversary comes along. Makes you realise that today was just a football game and really means not a lot.

Prove to me if we had signed a different player to Piroe that player wouldn’t have scored 20 plus goals this season ? £100 donation is waiting

Bet Cullen would have finished those same chances. Piroe's nothing special. No one should buy him.

and we should have seen our players fighting too,if only for the many fans that paid good money to go up there. They should also be fighting for their next contract or new club They didnt. That said, some of our players can't do the basics fight or not. Ince has caught his dad's genes alright;feisty chap.

He clearly hates Martin and waits until we get pegged back to post. Nowhere to be seen when we were 4-1 up. Just my opinion, regardless of what others feel regarding him. |
That is absolutely no excuse for posting personal insults or personally derogative comments apart from saying you disagree. Because that is expressing your opinion without attacking the person.

It’s not for me to suggest. You made the claim without Piroe we be worse off. Do you know all the transfer targets before the season started ? I’d expect unless you are the chairman or someone involved with transfers at the club you wouldn’t have a clue. So therefore you can not prove we’d be worse off.

That's a welcome post.Being banned wasnt easy watching the unmitigated dross posted .It was sickening. We are all hurting. We manifest it different ways.I hold a grudge against only one poster no longer on here whom I will meet again someday .The crepe I get is understandable. The truth always hurts. We have to be honest though. If people rip me on here that's fine but for God's ake ,look in the mirror because what post is the truth and the truth is that right now we are rudderless and face the inevitable ale of Piroe,a fantastic buy ;brilliant lad, still played out of position. He will go on to crucify teams and I wish him well.Hopefully our putrid owners dont flog him cheap. They will. My ol fella was difficult;a real Jack ,one with fire in the belly although much was religious based but he did use profane language in the centre stand but next day he was at Chapel on his knees praying . He hated the Swans losing. My mum too. My wife hates it too-after 44 years not surprising really. Ive lost many friends who thought we were a proper club so it's natural I feel as I do to read comments that I have. Finally, dont but Jammy Red California wine.I was bought a bottle ,opened it then poured it down the sink. All in all as Gary Glitter said...Its good to be back

This is a strange hill to die on. Piroe has been fantastic and has surpassed expectations. We'll be lucky to hold on to him. Absolute bargain at twice the price. You're not winning as many points as you think by explaining that we can't know for sure that some alternate reality striker wouldn't have done better.

I am not personally attacking him, just his views and his negativity. Is that a personal attack on him ? If people want to say I am pro Martin and too positive because I invariably think we are going to win every game, get into the playoffs, etc, would they be being personal about me ? If half a dozen expressed the same opinion about me is that " gang culture " in reverse? Too much nonsense been going on this board lately, which Keith and Not Loyal have asked us all to bring and end to. I have tried to adhere to that request.

Todays result sort of backs up what I said on another thread. We need to keep our best….and after today it’s not much of a guess which areas we need to strengthen. At the end of the day within reason what is the club’s ambition?

Did I say that you just attacked him? Was I responding to your comment? Have you ever considered even for one second that continual attacks on the person of posters are an even bigger turn off than a negative attitude towards the way we play and how our manager is perceived? Please do not insult my intelligence by saying you haven't done so in the recent past.

I’m not interested in winning any points. I’m just pointing out the fact that it’s impossible to be sure that without Piroe we’d be in a worse position, because you don’t know who the club would have signed instead of him. All you can do is say it’s your opinion because that’s all it is, unless you are the chairman or you are involved with transfers at the club.

yet many have stated without Ayew last season we wouldn't have made the playoffs. tell me then what other players could we have signed to give us those 20 goals..we signed Ovafemi...he has been a good signing yet is nowhere near Piroes20

Yes. Just a typical football fan. Like many I had travelled to Blackpool and Peterborough, and was personally disappointed by our performances and watched us put in a very disappointing performance against Birmingham. So yes I was seething. Three games in which IMHO we were very poor. Then ( in much the way as the players recharged their batteries before the Cardiff game ) I calmed down and regained my optimism before we played Cardiff. If we get battered by Middlesbrough on Saturday then I will no doubt be unhappy again. My views ebb and flow like the tide on a sea of Swans results. I don't come with prefixed ideas, regardless of results and performance. As I said, just a typical football fan. EDIT - Actually I predicted us to win 3 - 0 at Cardiff, so no, not after the Doube [Post edited 19 Apr 2022 9:02]

Your argument is built on sand. It’s your opinion simple as that. No where in your argument is there any fact. You maybe correct, you maybe wrong. No facts. Just your opinion.
