Tony Mowbray 11:20 - May 17 with 2881 views | PatfromPoole | Just heard on Talk Shite that Tony Mowbray is fighting for his job at Sunderland. Unbelievable. Has done brilliant jobs at Blackburn and Sunderland in the last two years in the Championship. We could do a lot worse…..

| We thought that we had the answers,
It was the questions we had wrong. |

He served up promotion at West Brom. Get him a seat at the table.

I think we have to be realistic here. If Carrick gets Boro up and does well in the Prem, he will be eyeing up the manager jobs at United and his hometown club Newcastle, both of which could conceivably be available in the next 2-3 years. His trajectory is currently at opposite ends to Saints.

I want Boro to go up. It’s a miserable away trip I would happily miss out on. Besides, they may help to send Boscombe down.

If you haven’t been to Seaton Carew you haven’t lived. Fantastic place.

We stayed there at Hartlepool away. Stayed in the guest house next door to where John Darwen/the canoe man had been holed up

Well, he got them up from League One, very nearly got them in the play-offs last season despite spending hardly anything, and had an overall 40% win record at a club that was in a fair bit of turmoil. I would say he overachieved. Blackburn are a small club with a low core support.

Tony Mowbray on 15:03 - May 18 with 2161 views | Springhill_old_boy | As a Celtic man I have mixed feelings about big Mogga. As a player he invented the pre match Huddle routine but as manager he was completely out of his depth with the constant "have to take it on the chin" after every defeat. Now as usually Scottish football is ridiculed by fans down south, I find it interesting that someone who failed in a "farmers league.. league that my nan could win" would be on the radar?

I must admit, none of the names that are being rumoured to be appointed are inspiring me with confidence and I could put it down to nothing more than gossip but it is the lack of trust or faith in SR to get it right - hopefully they will and my doubts and cynicism will prove me wrong.

Based on results alone Martin's managerial career has been poor/medicore at best BUT his passing stats are world class and that's why he was appointed. We won the passing stats battle today. We could go through the entire season unbeaten on passing stats. The problem is the opposition are playing to win on goals. It's simply not fair. [Post edited 2 Sep 2023 15:46]
