I have been screaming for this god knows how long to leave someone upfield at a corner, finally yesterday we left three!
De-congested the penalty box and gave us an out ball.

I thought it worked well yesterday. Not only does it provide an out ball, but it relieves the pressure on the keeper, especially as all our keepers have been criticised for failure to come and claim the ball in a crowded penalty area. Early days for this tactic, but I hope we persist with it. | | | |

Yeah, really liked the tactic and glad it was noticed. Waiting to see what Clive makes of it in his (much awaited) report, but it seemed refreshing after years of all back.
The odd thing is that with one up, the opposition normally leaves two back, but yesteday it was three back matching up our three so no numerical advantage.
It was a shame that it never got tested as I don't remember any corner being cleared as far as the half way line. | | | |

Like you guys, I have been calling for this tactic for a few years now. Only thing I would criticise is not having one of them in the middle of our half to receive the ball, which would allow the keeper to go short or long. | | | |

Why not accelerate it a bit, have the 2 wide players start running towards each other causing the defenders to shadow them, a bit like an NFL play, they could vary the routine all this going on before they have taken the corner and all the push me pull you pallava is going on.
