What we have seen over this season is leadership from him, constantly talking, demanding from and off his team mates. I've said before one of the key differences is where he is being played he has the game in front of him and his brain and reading of the game gives him that extra yard, his skills give him that extra time. His defensive work is getting better and better whether it be nicking balls, or blocks and clearances in the box.
I have to say that excluding my outnumbered lookie Likeee nonsense I've posted previously, I've always wanted him to do well. But also he had something but it just wasn't happening
Madsen opened up at a pre-season interview that it was a very difficult first season for him and that he was going all out to improve. Look at him now, playing some great stuff, controlling and much stronger. Well done Nico you have certainly improved and delivered what you said you would.
I'm not suggesting Madsen is better than Ale Faurlin, but if you compare their records in the Championship for us Madsen is well ahead on goal involvements per game.
Faurlin, P-118, G-4, A-14 - 18 goal involvements in 118 games, roughly 1 every 6.5 games
Madsen P-61, G-6, A-9 - 15 goal involvements in 61 games, roughly 1 every 4 games
Devil's advocate. Of his 6 goals, how many penalties - 3?
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the Earth all one's lifetime." (Mark Twain)
