| Will Chair be back to his injury free best? 22:36 - Feb 22 with 2460 views | Jevlar | Not intending to dampen the mood following a great away win but just keen to hear what others think. For being a mainstay and a key creative outlet for so many years, hardly missing a match, I just really hope we see Illy back this season and getting 8-10 games under his belt so he can be a vital part of this team again. I sit in F block with my dad who has a watched the Rs since the late 60s and he fears that the once robust Chair may be a thing of the past, I hope he’s wrong but am worried he’s right. Guess time will tell and he’s still young, but to me it’s kinda startling how he’s had so many injury setbacks over the past couple of years with hardly anything for all the time before. Really think this team with a fully fit Chair on the left (or in the middle) could really excite and help us to challenge those playoff spots. | | | | |
| Will Chair be back to his injury free best? on 23:06 - Feb 22 with 2331 views | Myke | His injuries over the past two seasons are a real concern as we were so used to him being ever present. This latest one is particularly baffling because he was due back 2 months ago. Obviously he will be rusty when he does come back, but I think is still an integral part of the team, probably on the left as that is a problem for us, whereas ‘10’ is well-stocked. It would be great for him to get a run of games to regain his match sharpness, have a full-pre-season and come racing out of the traps next season. | | | |
| Will Chair be back to his injury free best? on 23:07 - Feb 22 with 2334 views | JamesB1979 | I don’t see why he can’t get back to that. He is only 28. He was in great form before his injury. What annoyed me was that prior to the injury he played pretty much every minute since he was brought back into the starting eleven after his previous injury. Whether that is Williams, Stephan or more likely a bit of both, seemed pretty foolish. I think we’ve got a few players in Chair, Poku, JCS that we need to be careful with. Don’t start all 3 games in a 3 game week for example, and maybe sub them before the 90 is up. After a few months of that, getting games in their legs, then maybe they can do 3 game weeks. | | | |

| Will Chair be back to his injury free best? on 00:35 - Feb 23 with 2153 views | numptydumpty | I think he will be sub for a few games before he gets a start and even then likely to be replaced by 60 to 70 minutes. Clearly, the last couple of seasons, there are injury concerns that have had minimal public knowledge. Wasn't he supposedly due back at Christmas. Hope the announcement he is match fit, means he is selected this week in some capacity, as you never know with our communications, the way it is. Fortunately, we have much more strength in depth in Chair's position in the last season or so. He has been the main man for many years or for a couple of seasons with Willock, when he was firing, but Chair's form dipping inevitably due to his lack of availability, means he may not get selected as a starter, sometimes due to the form of others. I have a feeling his better days may be behind him, hope not though obviously, and this may very well be because of his recent injury woes and the necessity for himself to nurse himself back into the fold. Let's hope he can get back to his very best and the injury concerns do not reoccur. Good luck Ilias.... | |

I've seen him (on TV) in the tunnel a few times so he is around during games.

It was better when they said nothing. Prior to this recent game, it was said he was match fit. Now he isn't. Don't believe this cr*p Outright lying does not count as communication. Most things , the club is doing well, but these communications re players are a DISGRACE. The club have some kudos recently, so lying about such things - why - there really is no need. But if there is, tell us why....

Well I mentioned it before but I think we've missed the boat in terms of making a decent sale on Chair; and while I don't doubt he's a talented player, when he plays I don't think it's to the benefit of his teammates and our general play. Holds on to the ball too long, doesn't look up, etc. Obviously I hope he comes back well from this injury, but it's not looking so great. So it kind of feels like we're stuck with each other, for better or worse.

I'm hoping that Chair will interact well with Burrell when they are both on the pitch. In a similar way he did with Willock? Maybe if he knows there is a willing runner in front he'll be more inclined to play the earlier ball? I do agree though, on paper, or in theory, he isn't the right kind of player for our new direct style of play. Although those spate of 0-0 games highlighted that we miss his creativity to create chances when the game is flat and the oppo are not attacking, which lets us counter quickly. --see OXF and CHA where we should have got more

Yes, straight out of the Orwellian playbook. FITNESS IS INJURY Really odd behaviour as it shows a lack of faith in the fanbase and only makes them mistrust you anyway!

Agree with most of that, it’s just that we are weak on that left side going forward and Chair can hold the ball up a whole lot better than Saito. He left the field with us in 6th place, think he might be the difference if we want that 6th place back.

I feel like the old adage applies - "don't assume malice when it can be explained by incompetence". I'm not sure it makes it much better that the performance team are so rankly incompetent but I suppose there's not the bad intent

| Will Chair be back to his injury free best? on 19:14 - Feb 23 with 960 views | Superhoops2808 | I think it was hamstring but may wrong What I dont get is why some here say our manager is a liar. He is anything but in my opinion and is probably as frustrated as we are as fans. Surely it is best not to rush him back as we have said before - Like Willock for example. If you have concrete proof the club is lying, then so be it. But just guessing, is not fair especially on our manager who I think is very matter of fact | | | |

I guess it could be looked from that angle. But as I and probably all of us notice in football, if you perform at the level of rank incompetence, for even a few weeks consecutive, the P45 flies your way with supersonic charge. Three losses in a week and no wins in five and managers are preparing their au revoirs. Three poor attempts at saves in one game that all lead to dreadfully bad goals against, and you are dropped from the team. So, if miscommunications are not done with the backdrop of malice and rank incompetence prevails - surely not at QPR - what are the reasons for the performance team members remaining in situ. The cheque is in the post !!!! Oh and sorry, answer to the thread title. SADLY UNLIKELY...
