Didn't see it today but were they as poor as Shrewsbury were against us? Dale, Latics and Shrews all sat on 7 points now, we remain Newport and Crawley's only victories this season. I didn't think Gillingham looked anything special despite them spanking us, likewise Walsall at their place, yet both are riding high. I know it's early days but maybe the quality of the league isn't particularly strong this season and if we can continue to make ourselves difficult to beat we should be fine. Might not be the sexy football Watson promised but maybe that will come with time.

Honestly? They looked like every Mellon team we’ve played over the last few years. Their squad is made up of journeymen and anyone with any flair doesn’t get chance to stand out.
They weren’t any better or worse than previously. Just the same.
Win a few and they’ll all love him again though.

As someone who born and raised in Oldham, it is huge dump of faecal matter. The town has always been jealous of Rochdale having a Marks and Spencer shop.
Oldham's old town hall was disused years ago and the monstrosity tower block was built in its place.
The town has an area with the same name as a disease, Mumps.
The town has a population that still regards education as something dangerous, hence their recent council elections voting patterns.
I support the Dale because my brother told me I had to follow Oldham. I chose Dale to get on his nerves as he is a knob.

I couldn’t believe until I saw it that the referee at Boundary Park blew early for halftime and then restarted the game after his error had been pointed out to him.
Although surprisingly the crowd were very quiet at full time...no audible booing or chants of Mellon out. In fact the place was like a morgue the second half.
A lot of Oldham fans on social media seem to think that Flat Cap Frank has either run out of money or has drastically tightened the purse strings. More blame being pointed at him and the CEO than Mellon.

Oldham fans aren’t known for being very bright though. It was obvious their attention seeking chairman (who hasn't got his face plastered everywhere now results aren’t great) would tighten the purse strings at some point but they acted all Billy big bollocks anyway.

Both sets of supporters think their club has some kind of importance in English football when in reality, just like us, nobody outside of the town (unless born or live here/there) gives two shites about them. We’re humble enough to accept that but when they have some bighead stroll into town and tell them they are bigger than they actually are then their limited intelligence allows them to believe it.
As you say, the Ogdens have the correct philosophy and don’t have to do cringeworthy things like join in training (Day at bury) or march down a street like the pied piper (Rothwell at Oldham) to earn respect. Again, it’s about humility and the aforementioned pair don’t possess it. It HAS to be about them and the gullible swallow it.

The Oldham fans site is actually full of people having a sensible debate about the clubs current situation.
From the threads I read through the general consensus was how long to give Mellon and how they must cut their cloth accordingly
