The next three matches 02:27 - Oct 15 with 2317 viewsVancouverHoop

I'm not one for guessing outcomes, but the results of next three games should tell us whether we'll be looking up or down the division during the first half of the season.

Nice test for us & Birmingham hitting 4 yesterday as well.
Really interested in Swansea as couple of Kiwi midfielders in their XI - Stamenic & Just.
Teams looking up

Thought 5 points from the 5 October games, anything above that will be a result.

Birmingham and Saints very tough away games, Swansea seem to come alive in short bursts and their wings to forward play is top quality.

Keep going Rangers.

Come on to be fair, at least for Mbengue you can't legislate for a bad knee injury!

Did everyone else run out of gas just because he had to go off??

In any case it's a good opportunity for Adamson.

Agree I think it really affected the players.... im in SA F section and even from there you could see the anguish of the players... especially Jimmy...

Down to 10 and that incident would have a bad affect... thu k we did OK... and the reaction to their goal told me the players were gutted

Need to get this 3rd game out the way... I would be happy with a clean sheet... which would obviously give us a point.... 5 points for these 3 games is a great return

Ah, had we used all our subs at that point?

I'm not sure Brum have a great record at home.

Only won against ten-man Preston.

For the taking.

The Windows brothers - Open, Closed and French.

Reminds me of Slap Shot and the Hanson brothers !

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Need to start concussing ourselves to get another sub.

Another rule introduced with good in mind, but doesn't really work in practice..

Yeah seems a silly rule to me - you've either got five subs to use, or you haven't.

Interesting (and encouraging stat).

Hard to see how they can be 4th with so few home wins and us 5th after such a long run of draws.

Disagree. I think 5 subs is daft as it is.

Imagine being 1-0 down and then the other team do 5 individual subs in the last 10 minutes or so, it would be awful to watch.

I said ages ago that a better rule for this would be you have have 5 subs (Still use the windows) but 2 of them have to be part of your dev squad, something like that. Encourage more youth players to get minutes.

Still only 10 games in a good start but still a bit early to get a view on where we will finish. Things look more optimistic this season and the team much harder to beat with our defence and goalkeeper. Next 3 games are tough but we seem to do ok against better teams and in truth no easy games in the championship. As others have said I think injuries will make a big difference on how the season goes if we get chair Burrell lampty Saito and others back and on the pitch regularly we have a chance top 6/8. JS doing a good job in getting the best out of the available players he has.So far this season very enjoyable long may it continue it is so good seeing the team give 100% every time we are on the pitch those standards JS talks about appear to be making a difference.

When was the last time we were going into a three game run against opponents of their calibre & thinking it's possible that we can get something from them?

Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing how we cope with these games. Bring them on!

One game at a time.

Birmingham is tough as it's soon, some looked out on their feet at the end and they've had an extra day. But after that it's two Saturdays, which may give us a chance to have a couple back (certainly Cerkin). Then it's a Tuesday and a Saturday but both at home.

One game at a time though. I don't think the league really takes shape until the new year anyway and there's no point looking at it. Just gotta keep plugging away, getting points.

Would be happy with 4 points from The 3 games

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

I dunno about anyone else, but I've got an early feeling this might actually be a season we can just... enjoy.

Unlikely to be dragged into relegation scrap and no real pressure to get promoted (just yet) puts us in that rare position of "just fu*king go for it lads". Shackles are off.

Take 2nd half against Preston. Loved it. Whether Smythy had equalised or not, I was entertained and would've gone home proud.

Of course, I get having something to aim for is part of what's driving the players, and if we're 6th come March, things might start getting squeaky.

But until then, play your flair players, take risks, try new shit, get at teams and entertain us. It won't always come off, but so what? Give me that over another season of nervously scrapping for every point.

Might just be the most enjoyable season we've had in years.

Last night I was more gutted about Mbengue and really felt for him

But it is nice to have decent players for that position without us having to panic - Adamson has looked the real deal in that position

The next 3 games are tough ones but whatever happns they'll be quicky followed by another 3. Key is not to get too carried away with doom and gloom if they don't go well, our season will be far from over if we struggle in these and we won't be assured of anything if we won them all

Brum's home draws: Bristol C, Southampton, Wolves, Middlesbrough.

Would we have done better?

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?
