| That Boy Kemper 13:33 - Oct 15 with 2298 views | Superhoops2808 | Seen many suggestions that he was MoM last night - Not mine (that was Edwards) but he deserves his own thread surely. He has played less than 180 minutes of championship football and has taken to it like a well fitted glove. Really does not look out of place and once fully fit I really think he will be the signing of the season. He had a blinder against Wet Spam with Bowen being kept quiet and last night had the freedom to boss that left hand side and push forward. That flick to Alfie for the first goal was delightful. LB's are hard to come by, hell we have been through them, but think he is the real deal and really glad he is ours and not a loan | | | | |
| That Boy Kemper on 13:44 - Oct 15 with 1972 views | RBlock | As I mentioned on another thread, the guy is a unit of a LB. Really aggressive, must be a proper nightmare playing against for a winger. Him and Cirkin are two top quality options in that spot. Also his strength in the air means he's a great out-ball, either for Charles or for Dunne to switch it over - Furlong-esque. | | | |

| That Boy Kemper on 13:50 - Oct 15 with 1884 views | EuroRanger | His only weakness is pace, which we saw once yesterday. He does compensate with raw aggression and general b*stardness though. We've said for a while that we need a bit more spine in the squad and he certainly brings that. At one point yesterday he lost the ball three times and then somehow reappeared with it, as he just refuses to give it up. I love it! His setup for Alfie yesterday was also class. | | | |
| That Boy Kemper on 13:51 - Oct 15 with 1873 views | dannyblue | I liked him a lot. I did think he deteriorated a bit through the second half and looked a bit agricultural with the ball at times. But yes looks like we have two good left backs now. | | | |
| That Boy Kemper on 13:51 - Oct 15 with 1865 views | PhilmyRs | Where does Cirkin fit into this team? I’m a huge fan of his but Kemper looks very handy so going to be tricky. I’m not sure how he would fair a level up - looks a bit slow to me - but for the championship, like him a lot. | | | |

If you had been up against an England International for 70 minutes just 5 days ago and then giving it all for 45 mins in the next match whilst still not fully up to speed I think you would look 'a bit agricultural with the ball at times' As I said, once fully fit he will be exactly what we need - As others said, Cirkin will be a good release for him once back so we are not hammering him game after game.

The way the games are stacked this year, and how we're looking to play, I'd say both are gonna get a lot of minutes this season

And as the season progresses, one or both of them are likely to be needed to play at RB.

| That Boy Kemper on 14:26 - Oct 15 with 1583 views | TacticalR | We knew that Derby would sit deep and that we would need something unexpected. Normally you would expect that from our creative players, but most of them are injured. Kemper provided it with his backheel to Alfie Lloyd, which got us going. | |

| That Boy Kemper on 15:33 - Oct 15 with 1204 views | danehoop | Feels a bit like Dunne in his approach when he was playing as out an out right back. Not the fastest but by God he doesn't stop trying and has a decent cross and bits of skill you don't expect. He is going to be a good signing for us. | |

Indeed. This is what he's like as a Boy. Imagine what he'll be like when he becomes a man.

| That Boy Kemper on 15:36 - Oct 15 with 1183 views | E17hoop | He's 27 and those extra 3-4 years he's had as a player are evident. Yes, he may not have pace but reads the game well and is, as has been stated, a double hard bastard. [Post edited 15 Oct 15:37]

| That Boy Kemper on 18:09 - Oct 15 with 732 views | Pdog | I like the contrast between him and Cirkin. When both are available, they give us options for different situations. Away from home keeping it tight, defending your box with 15 to go.. he’s your man. But that alone is doing him a disservice based on last two games. I still feel Cirkin offers a bit more guile going forward when onus is on us to create. All in all a good LB combo to have. | | | |

Looks a very solid signing, and it's a nice balance to have. There's a lot to like about a full back who takes no prisoners and plays on the front foot. That said, and this is nitpicking after a solid 7/8 out of 10 performance, I wonder if he'd be as effective going forward against better teams under more pressure. He fizzed one out of play trying the outside of his foot and had a couple of poor first touches from Charles' distribution that he got away with. For the assist their defender should probably deal with the ball after his chest control arguably gets away from him, though the backheel was very clever. I think that's where Cirkin has the edge, but against a tricky winger I'd back Kemper to keep him quiet more often than not
