How many injuries?! 17:18 - Jan 4 with 2336 viewsWilkinswatercarrier

I made it four injuries in the game today that resulted in substitution; Burrell, Varane, Poku and if u include Morrison in the warm up.

When was the last time that happened?

Poll: How is Nourry cooking so far ? 🤣

It's testament to the deeper squad this year that we at least have some reasonable cover for each of those, but it is alarming. I haven't seen any of the first half, can they be attributed to the state of the pitch do we think?

The Poku one is really frustrating. At the start of the season he was the player that I was most excited about seeing, but you wonder whether we're going to see what he's about at all this season.

We all said the same after the game. The pitch has surely had an impact on all our injuries today. The pitch is getting worse. What are we doing differently to it this year compared to previous years? There are non league grounds with better pitches than ours. We need some kind of statement from the club to explain what has happened with our pitch and how it will be rectified moving forward.

It’s a “slow burn” approach mate. Trust the process.

There is a certain irony in all these injuries meaning the club need to finally turn to Kolli, especially if he delivers, like today.

Didn’t think Poku was an injury, assumed he would make a change at half time given we only had one more in play sub option and they must be managing Poku’s mins.

Manager has confirmed Poku withdrawal was due to an injury unfortunately.
Said he felt 'something' at the end of the half. Hopefully not bad.

In answer to the OP's question, the last time it happened was in 1924 when Quentin Bumjoy went down with hair strain, Herbert Naked-Molerat was subbed due to uranium poisoning from Dr Phineas O'Grady's patented health tonic, Ray Jinghorn caught typhoid from the club tea urn and Lazarus Dungtrouser was deported to Matabeleland to face historic charges of outraging the wildlife.

Actually, upon reflection, I don't think that last one counts.

You missed one….. Wally Wallop went off with phossy jaw in the 86th minute.

Woman in front of us said Varane went off with a back-pass muscle injury, which made us laugh.

Yep, just saw the interview. Crazy to pick up 4 injuries in one game, especially when you consider the loading isn’t high for those 4. Varane and Burell have played a lot of minutes but have had far less over Christmas. Fingers crossed they are twinges rather than the tear off the bone injuries we seem to pick up!

That was the game when Albert fuzzylocks Bunny turned on a Florin and shot at goal, sadly it was our goal his brain was never quite the same since he left the flying corps

captains fantastic

He jarred it into the ground as he put a tackle in. Hope just an impact injury.

How many times was the game stopped mid play for someone feigning brain trauma brought on by acute embarrassment. The ref, as has been observed in recent match reports, totally lost his grip on the game.

Erasmus Fudgecote played the entire game in goal (and kept a clean sheet) without realising he’d earlier contracted acute Belgian ferret syndrome

He never should have volunteered to chaperone the Australian squadron's wombat mascots. Didn't he know they were our ferrets' natural enemies? It took 9 stout men and a pound of cook's best lard to separate them.
