| Amateur hour 22:36 - Oct 16 with 1516 views | Bukim_Dano | I know it’s 2 days after the event but I’m still thinking about the medical team’s response to Mbengue’s injury. Is it just me or did they seem really amateurish? | | | | |
| Amateur hour on 23:29 - Oct 16 with 1362 views | TwoHalves | Agree. There didn’t appear to be any urgency despite Mbengue’s obvious distress and the frantic signalling from members of both teams. The bloke who eventually staggered on with the stretcher looked to me like he was about to keel over himself. Jimmy Dunne had to meet him half way to speed the process up. Thank goodness a defibrillator wasn’t required in this case. All a bit worrying. Have the club been asked to comment I wonder? | | | |

| Did I ever mention that I was in Minder? |

Stretchers are as cheap as they come. But normally you get four people running on with them, so that all four can have a side, front and back each, and they all have the ability to run, to get to the injured player in time. The response was pub league football on a Sunday morning in the local park !! Whats a buggy going to cost 30 grand maximum perhaps, maybe a lot less, but seems like a good investment for the club, with the hope that its never used. Not massive bucks to spend for a championship football league club. Agree, it was a pathetic response, from the club. They need to change that completely. [Post edited 17 Oct 8:28]

| Amateur hour on 08:28 - Oct 17 with 836 views | kernowhoop | Perhaps the medics thought that it was one of those phoney 'injury' breaks in play to allow the players the opportunity to get instructions from the manager (first introduced by Sam Field)? Very best wishes to Amadou and hope the injury is not as bad as we all fear. [Post edited 17 Oct 8:36]

Appreciate the help from St Johns Ambulance volunteers, but again as a multi million pound football club, should we be asking volunteers to cover scenarios such as this.

Isn’t using SJA standard across the league? Of the many, many things the club could be criticised for, digging out the match-day medical team is unnecessary and petty. [Post edited 17 Oct 9:03]

| Amateur hour on 09:14 - Oct 17 with 652 views | BrianMcCarthy | Maybe the stretcher crew have to be called on by the ref? If so, from watching the video, they were called on at 81:00 and came on at 81:23. That's a small delay, but only small. | |

| Amateur hour on 09:30 - Oct 17 with 591 views | Myke | I think the general consensus that the club has improved a lot this season both on and off the pitch. Injuries continue to hold us back, but that has been debated to death elsewhere so no need to do it again here. One area that does need improvement though is injury seriousness and injury recovery time feedback. Personally, I haven’t seen anything on Mbengue since Wednesday on how serious the injury is, unless I missed it somewhere. Lamptey’s injury at West Ham happened over a week ago and again nothing. I was surprised (in a good way) that Kemper started at West Ham, because I was unaware he was fit to play. Occasionally we will get a block of information , like when Clive interviewed JS and we got to hear how several players were progressing, but there are still several unanswered questions around Saito, Burrell and the ones above. This is one area the club could do a lot better in and would help cut out the speculation | | | |

A fellow R and friend's wife is a fully trained paramedic and is sometimes part of the team on duty at Loftus Road. She wasn't there on Wednesday. It is almost certainly a paid for service as there is always a fully trained and equipped team present. So there may be some St John's volunteers but there is also a professional service available.

We can thank Nourry for this lack of info. He's improved in some ways but still insists on keeping us in the dark about things like injuries.

Competitive advantage, you see. As proved conclusively over recent years...
