I'd agree with that. Rashford doesnt seem to have same end product or incisiveness that Eze has. When Eze starts running at players you hear the crowd suddenly perk up as you know something potentially magical is about to happen through his speed, guile and vision. When Rashford runs he is good but the end product doesnt quite have the same quality.
I think will be interesting to see what Tuchel takes from the game. He attended a few Palace games and had a chance to look at Eze, Guehi and others play. Pretty sure he rates Eze highly and seems like he understood and delivered what was asked for. Suspect Eze was a bit frustrated once the final set of substitutions happened as he was being fed the ball less and the pace slowed down. Instead Foden was given the ball more and ran down blind alleys and delivered poor corners and much more inconsistent crosses in the box. |

I think heโs a bit frustrated with the lack of game time heโs had over the last 12 months. You cannot tell me Bowen is a better footballer than him. Likewise, Gordon. He might be fast but Eze is so much more technically gifted. I also think he might be a bit frustrated at Palace. Heโs had a stop start season and his career hasnโt taken off how it could have done. I fear a Zaha situation for him.
I love him, and heโd start for me in this England squad. Saka on the right, Eze on the left, Rice and Bellingham in the middle with Palmer at 10. Think they are our best attacking and technically gifted players. But it wonโt happen. His game time will be limited. And all the while heโs at Palace itโll be harder for him to put his case across as heโs not playing in Europe, and not playing for one of the big clubs in the Prem.
He needs a move this summer. |
I quite like Curtis Jones in the midfield with Rice and Bellingham but nice to have so many options.
Who he picks in those wide areas and how it works will be fascinating, can't play all of Foden, Saka, Palmer, Rogers, Gordon, Eze and Rashford, getting those positions right will be key to how we get on and may need to be based on who we are playing in the world Cup, Saka is probably more suited to some teams than others. | | | |

Totally agree, even taking the sell-on clause out of it. He's done really well at Palace but you can just feel there is a potential next step there, and that's playing in front of twice as many people every week, being able to win things, play in Europe and real pressure every week.
Surely a move makes sense for him at this stage, if he can get one. Still think Spurs would seem the best fit. |  | | |

So we are judging the new guy after his first 2 games against 2 terrible sides. Southgateโs first 2 results were 2-0 win over Malta and 0-0 with Slovenia. Or when he got the job permanently 2-2 with Scotland and 2-0 vs Lithuania. Personally Iโll judge Tuchel after the performance at World Cup. | | | |
