| Lincoln Reflection 17:54 - Nov 7 with 7321 views | bluenwhite10 | As Ian Holloway once said “She might not be the prettiest bird, but she went home in a Taxi with us” Not the best performance but 3 points is in the bag, Lincoln can feel hard done for the effort they put in today as they operate with a big budget but those players put the hard yards in and made it tricky for us to play around them. Very similar performance to Tuesday night. Smyth, Vale very poor today, Kempner quite and Poku came into more in the second half. I think the difference was we was able to bring on a bit quality in Chair and Cirkin. Obikwu if you have not got natural ability you need to make for it in effort so he needs to learn quickly on that front. MOM Ronnie is Ronnie and is a level above, but I thought Varane good was good but that balanced off with his bad is bad so today I will give it to Charles today who’s improvement in one of his weaker areas cross collection was noticeable as everything stuck to his gloves today and his distribution was impeccable. Off for the international break with 3 points in the bag after huffing and puffing. Come on you R’s | | | | |
| Lincoln Reflection on 18:02 - Nov 7 with 0 views | Watford_Ranger | Bank the points, try and forget it ever happened. Some honking performances but it’s a nice change from undeservedly dropping two points. Credit JS the subs made a difference. | | | |
| Lincoln Reflection on 18:07 - Nov 7 with 0 views | CLAREMAN1995 | Great win in the end kept at it fair play to them and Kamara finally scoring and a brilliant goal also . Lincoln had multiple chances in that flurry of action to go up 2-1 but never got close again thankfully. Verane is a mystery to me gave the ball away so many times in a bad spot ,missed a sitter by not sidefooting it home but is always in the thick of things I cannot figure out how good he is Surprised it was Obikwe instead of Koli there he showed how badly he needs full games out on loan. Have to mention our corners they continue to be shocking maybe a set piece session a couple of times next 2 weeks | | | |
| Lincoln Reflection on 18:49 - Nov 7 with 0 views | Lanhoop | Back 4 were very good today. Kamara my MOTM, great all round performance from him and finished the goal off so well. Vale needs to do better, Chair was a big upgrade. Relieved to get the win against a very limited and ugly team; we’d probably have lost that in recent years. Ref seemed to allow them to get away with fouls that he pulled us up for every time. Maybe they are just better at shirt pulls than us. Annoying performance from him. Very glad I don’t have to watch Lincoln more than twice this season. | | | |
| Lincoln Reflection on 19:00 - Nov 7 with 0 views | Geoff78 | Rs made very hard work of a game they always should have one but arguably conceded the best chances to Lincoln. Too often in recent games our defence has looked vulnerable especially to the quick break. The Imps goal came from giving away a sloppy pass in midfield after which Varane couldn't get a challenge in, Jimmy was outmanoeuvred, Adamson gave the attacker half a yard and never got it back and Charlles probably went down too soon. A disastrous spell followed where Lincoln were all over us but somehow we kept them out. I know there are lots of reasons to be positive but I thought we were pretty average today. There were too many passages of poor play where we gave the ball away in promising positions, were just too slow or our forwards couldn't sort their feet out to get a shot away. Playing the ball around at the back works better with Charles but still loses momentum. Smyth made at least 3 runs for the early ball over the top, but it never came. Am I the only one who thinks Jimmy isn't at the top of his game at the moment? Vale disappointed again. Stephan clearly has a lot of faith in him. Chair coming on raised the level and his short pass led to the goal. Kamara only needed one touch to bury the shot. Obikwu coming on was a surprise and he didn't do much to impress, but maybe Stephan felt we needed his height. Kolli would have been my choice of sub earlier than that. In the end well done to the team who battled hard against a well drilled defence. But we need better control in midfield and a cutting edge up front if we're going to finish in the top eight. Madsen and Burrel can't come back soon enough. Hard to pick a MotM - possibly Edwards yet again, but let's give it to Kamara. | | | |
| Lincoln Reflection on 19:14 - Nov 7 with 0 views | dannyblue | Relieved to get the win, which we needed. And with more possession! We’ve played better and lost. I think Adamson has been a revelation, competitive, gets tight to his man, and even starting to show something on the ball too…but he was either sleeping or done for pace for their goal after varane’s loose flick. Ronnie is class. Charles is a pleasure to watch. Two more than decent left backs and nice to have the lesser spotted headed cross assist. Kamara shows us what we’ve missed from midfield for years: Anticipates, can hold and carry, pass, intercept and tackle, and now score. With JCS in, so Ronnie can play at the base of midfield, Madsen back to replace Vale who was poor again, and Burrell…well look stronger. I’m also liking the flexibility in shape. Smyth was wide today in more of a 4231 but it’s fluid. Stephan has to take credit for that, and that most of the team are playing with confidence and purpose. If offered pre season, I Would definitely have taken these points and position and the feeling we’ve left points at the table. [Post edited 7 Nov 19:27]

| Lincoln Reflection on 19:46 - Nov 7 with 0 views | OxfordHoops | A good 3 points, against a physical team. We rode our luck at times and gave the ball away far too often. Subs changed the game for us, Vale was poor again, thought Poku had a decent game along with Ronnie and Kamara, who was my MoM? Good couple of weeks break to get others back to full fitness and then we go again. Level with Saints and a point above Spam after 15 games, we’ve got to be happy with that! Unpredictable league as today’s results show, we’ll play better and loose, it’s a results game and that’s what matters in the league! Move on URss | | | |
| Lincoln Reflection on 20:02 - Nov 7 with 0 views | stevec | I was expecting long throws, head tennis, dark arts, but fair play to Lincoln, none of that. They could have easily been overwhelmed before their goal but they keep their shape, attack with some purpose when it’s possible, and looked like a side trying to play championship football despite what I imagine is the lowest budget in the division. They have an honest bunch of players, really hope they stay up and good luck to them. A pleasure to see Chair moving like he used to. Whatever has come in, in those three positions behind the striker, he’s still the cream of the crop. Adamson deserves a medal for that block on the line, fella was up and down that line all day long, a real engine. There’s a few in the chasing pack now, let’s hope we can get the squad fully fit now. | | | |
| Lincoln Reflection on 20:03 - Nov 7 with 0 views | BlackCrowe | There's so much ability and understanding in this team at times. We purred upto and including when we scored and then lack any kind of killer attitude and f@rt around too much allowing teams back in with half chances and goal mouth scrambles. When we learn how to kill will be when we can get truly excited....i do think we've got the players to do it. Julien knows it too i reckon. | |

Adamson also prevented a certain goal for them with his goal line clearance. Such an important block.
| Lincoln Reflection on 20:35 - Nov 7 with 0 views | Hugey | One thing I'm really starting to notice is that we actually have patterns of play. Several times today, I felt like I knew what we were going to do next (and I definitely don't know anything about tactics!). Often starting with a Charles diaganol to a full back, then building from there. Appreciate this seems basic, but it's been a while, since Warburton maybe, that I've felt we were this well organised. Credit to Stephan. When's he getting a song btw?! Even a Julien Stephan's blue army... [Post edited 7 Nov 20:48]

| Lincoln Reflection on 20:44 - Nov 7 with 0 views | colinallcars | Not a game to live long in the memory - I've had more enjoyable defecating proctograms at Charing Cross hospital, but 3 points against awkward opponents and with several key players to return, hopefully soon. | | | |
| Lincoln Reflection on 20:49 - Nov 7 with 0 views | terryb | We needed to win & we deserved to win, but I don't think that we played particularly well today. It would have been very difficult to do so when Poku & Vale were so poor. Paul Smyth also didn't have one of his better games, but was nowhere near the level of the other two! Thankfully, Kone took up some very good positions & his control was back to what I expect from him. Hopefully Kamara won't have to play all the minutes for Finland in the international break. We will need him available & ready for the trip to Millwall. And the visit to see Sam Field captaining a team against us. Maintain our current points per game & we are on course for over 70 points this season. That would be rather nice! | | | |
| Lincoln Reflection on 20:51 - Nov 7 with 0 views | loftboy | Surely chair has to start ahead of Vale at Millwall. | |

Agree. Even a game-shy Madsen can take a proper corner, for example. Trouble is the returnee's are likely to be replaced by another group of walking wounded. Bench depth likely to be our biggest concern once again I'm afraid.
| Lincoln Reflection on 21:25 - Nov 7 with 0 views | Wegerles_Stairs | Great to win but we were not very good. Fair play to Lincoln - if Charles doesn't make that save at 1-1, they could have won. Chair is such a lovely player - we will miss him when he's gone. | | | |
| Lincoln Reflection on 21:26 - Nov 7 with 0 views | baz_qpr | Game felt very Burnleyesque at times, I thought Vale was better in the middle (but not a lot) Defense played well but we had issues attacking and defending down the right until the subs. Chair was a game changer yet another assist. Ronnie apart who was cruising around in his smoking jacket, MOTM has to go to Kamara the midfielder we have needed and wanted for years | | | |
| Lincoln Reflection on 21:42 - Nov 7 with 0 views | Lblock | I know this sounds contrary and even plain wrong based on current league position, but, this squad and Manager look some way away from being play off contenders to me. Fantastic we are above West Ham after a third of the season. Brilliant were top half Amazing we are 8th Thought Kone looked good in his outing today (and I’m a harsh critic of his) but after he went off it showed what limited options we have in attack without him. Obikwho? looked like a competition winner, somewhat Steve Slade in style Can you really see him or Kolli being the answer against some of the much better defences we’ll be up against back nine of the season? I remain concerned that Burrell will feature much or be the player he was last season in the short to medium term. Midfield is just as concerning to me. That line up gets eaten alive in the Docklands in a few weeks. Vale - my days, the Jimmy Smith vibes with this geezer are real. Simply doesn’t want to give it the effort and endeavour needed, always just jogging, always just on the edge of the game, always doing my nut in. Varanne - I was a big fan and a defender of his, this season he’s just not at the races. For a lad of his size he’s pretty weak, doesn’t read the game and I can’t see what his role is as doesn’t tackle and rarely picks a pass going forward Poku - last couple of games he looks like he couldn’t beat an egg and looks to be regressing into his self. Total credit to him for actually being available though. Dembele - doing what he can but he’s too easy to eat up and bully him off the ball. As above credit to him for being available. I see people lauding JS for the substitutions but I felt left it too long again to switch it up. We can make changes outside of the 55 to 65 minute window. Got a result so fair play | |

Way too casual bordering on irresponsible for the first 15 mins and then seemed to be knackered thereafter.

| Lincoln Reflection on 22:21 - Nov 7 with 0 views | A40Bosh | Looking at the table on 3 clubs have conceded less than our 18 goals and I think that is testament to our defensive quality in most games this season. Yes we have had 3 bad defeats (20% of the 15 games) but with the summer recruitment seem to have been able to get through the first third of the season without have a suspect line up across the back 4. Amadou being injured is the only constant concern but I have to say Adamson continues to impress and made that important block today. Jimmy had it tough today against a big opponent but worked hard and went in strong on every aerial battle. Ronnie seemed to also be able to put himself about today. I think we have struck gold with both Kemper and Cirkin coming in and there was no obvious drop off when Kemper went off, far from it. I think the early booking for Smythie did for him today and at one point I thought he was going to be sent off after an obvious full back late on. I hope over the coming weeks with the return of other missing midfielders and attackers we can be waxing lyrical about the other end of the pitch for the 2nd and 3rd parts of the season. Good result, top 8, in a good position if we can get the others firing. | |

In his short time at QPR, Devon White scored about 9 goals in 27 games in the premier league, of which 10 were as a substitute! Clumsy, awkward, maladroit or otherwise. I wish he were giving off Devon White vibes with goals to boot.
