As Ian Holloway once said “She might not be the prettiest bird, but she went home in a Taxi with us”
Not the best performance but 3 points is in the bag, Lincoln can feel hard done for the effort they put in today as they operate with a big budget but those players put the hard yards in and made it tricky for us to play around them.
Very similar performance to Tuesday night.
Smyth, Vale very poor today, Kempner quite and Poku came into more in the second half.
I think the difference was we was able to bring on a bit quality in Chair and Cirkin.
Obikwu if you have not got natural ability you need to make for it in effort so he needs to learn quickly on that front.
MOM Ronnie is Ronnie and is a level above, but I thought Varane good was good but that balanced off with his bad is bad so today I will give it to Charles today who’s improvement in one of his weaker areas cross collection was noticeable as everything stuck to his gloves today and his distribution was impeccable.
Off for the international break with 3 points in the bag after huffing and puffing.
Come on you R’s

I heard he was still Fin-King it through…

I did enjoy the match yesterday. Lincoln were good value and I hope they stay up. We could be a bit more direct like them on occasion too - loved their attack when the keeper booted it to their player who took a shot. Proper old school vibes.

Despite being exactly like Norf said they would be like, at least there was very little of the dark arts from them, IMO.
Once they scored, they seemed to realise, “this lot can be got at”, they had a bloody good go at us and we were VERY lucky not to concede a second.
We were worth the win in the end, though.
I hope they stay up. Them or bloody Preston? No contest.
Their fans were great, too.
| I need a SAGA. What’s the SAGA? It’s ….. Queen’s Park Rangers. |

Well I thought their defenders were very keen on our shirt.

Agree on Chair, turned the game back our way just as it was threatening to slide away.
Obikwu was utterly bizarre. Very difficult to justify him coming on ahead of Kolli on the evidence of this week, other than just to deliberately pis Kolli off. |
I've got a (slightly) irrantional issue with Kolli...just don't rate him or his attitude but acknowledge he's scored a few good uns over the past few months. Not nearly as good as he thinks he is. But do agree on Odikuwye (sp)...looked utterly hopeless.
