I had my doubts about Edwards in that unfamiliar CM role but he did very well yet again. Best early kick off (in terms of excitement) I've seen in ages! [Post edited 15 Mar 14:45]

Smyth showed what we have been missing. Surprised he came off instead of Andersen. He makes a big difference in how we play - in both directions.

Saito a bit unlucky because he was just trying to trip him But he misjudged it and it’s a red no question. Credit to Morgan Fox . Thought he was great today. Cook limped around for a while there and was clearly carrying an injury. Edwards very good in the middle but you can see he is a little uncomfortable with the ball in there and that’s natural . Hung on at times but chalk and cheese to Tuesday in desire and commitment. A decent point .
First Head Over The Parapet Leeds Match Thread on 14:33 - Mar 15 with 2037 views | HAYESBOY | Great effort today. We should appeal the red. If that's a red then all high boots/challenges are red cards. It wasn't an out of control lunge, it was an attempted trip and a yellow card. [Post edited 15 Mar 14:35]

He wasn't helped by the ball to be sure, but he has to take SOME blame for that, nobody forced him to go studs first on the guys calf. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

First Head Over The Parapet Leeds Match Thread on 14:36 - Mar 15 with 1872 views | stainrods_elbow | Workmanlike performance in a forgettable game for me. Has to be 2 points dropped after being 2-0 up virtually on h/t. We did very little, attacking-wise, in the 2nd half, and Frey was atrocious all game. After Dunne's Cruyff turn in their box at the end, I'd put him in up top for the rest of the season. Saito has been good, and scored a fine goal, but that was a bloody brainless red, so I can only conclude he fancied a break. Paal, Dunne, and Cook all did decently, and we defended pretty well. Everyone else average. I'd like to see Dembele starting, especially at home. Overall, however decent at the back, we looked the epitome of mediocrity against a no more than OK Leeds. Still, a point is one more than most of us expected, I guess, so I'll take it. Still don't see us beating last season's points total, though, and don't really feel we've progressed. I would. What was the difference between that and Struijk clothes lining Smyth? No arguments about a yellow but that was v harsh in the 90th minute

"...a no more than OK Leeds." Do you mean a different Leeds to the one we just played? Before the game today, our opponents were top by two points, averaging two points a game, with a goal difference of +51. Come on, that was a really decent effort by us today.

I think Saito tried to trip him and got it wrong, caught him with his studs, so red card. Struijk clothes lining Smyth - I thought that could have been a red, swinging arm with no intention to play the ball, it was a pretty violent challenge. Understand he felt the need to stop Smyth, but could have done that with a shirt pull. Thought the ref seemed to give Leeds a few free kicks for nothing particularly in the 2nd half.

Its just his usual b.s from all our free kicks, corners and throw ins we just are pretty useless this season.Anderson floats one across their box 30 seconds later we are desperatly defending our penalty area its business as usual sadly. Dembelle tries to score from our corner then when the ball comes straight back to him he dicks around trying fancy stepovers instead of whipping it back in to the danger zone and gets stripped. Saito gets a lot of punishment but that lunge at the calf was very dangerous I think it will not be overturned. Lets take the point Leeds had a few dangerous chances late it would have been pretty cruel to get nothing

Paal was good, and saved us at the back a couple of times, so you clearly have a murky agenda.

First Head Over The Parapet Leeds Match Thread on 14:57 - Mar 15 with 1412 views | Juzzie | Losing a two goal lead against the clear League leaders is not the same as losing a two goal lead at home to Luton. Disappointed? Maybe a little but the game is played over 90 minutes and I’d have taken a draw beforehand. We’ve stopped the losing run, Leeds friend of mine said we looked good. If it wasn’t violent/malicious maybe we can get away with a one game ban more for it being a clumsy/“ill advised” tackle?

And of course that's the big frustration, because produce that performance at Boro or 10 man WBA and you win the game It's nothing to do with money and all about desire and workmate. But that needs to be week in week out

Agreed Brian . Didn’t think we played that well but the effort was there today and two pieces of quality got us the point. Sorry for sounding so downbeat I just thought we gave the ball away cheaply however a point was more than I expected. Leeds were as they were against Portsmouth last week . If that’s the quality at the top of this division. God help them next season.
First Head Over The Parapet Leeds Match Thread on 15:02 - Mar 15 with 1281 views | stainrods_elbow | Why is is that footballers get credit just for doing a fair impression of their best? In my job as teacher/editor, it's a given, like in most normal jobs. I don't pat myself on the back at the end of the day, nor expect anyone else to, just for trying or showing passion, beucase for me it's a matter of pride, and because I love what I do. I agree with the poster who says the performance was no more than just about passable |(though with clear deficits up front/going forwards). Compared to the 4-0 vs Leeds last season, though, we've clearly gone backwards, and only a loon would argue otherwise. [Post edited 15 Mar 15:04]
