Out of Contract on 10:44 - Mar 18 with 2658 views | GaryHaddock | I really hope we don't end up in a position where we are lionising players like Dunne via social media to sell tickets or spin a line and then fck them off at the earliest opportunity.
Out of Contract on 11:03 - Mar 18 with 2591 views | dm97 | Cook/Frey is all about the amount of money they want. In principle I agree keeping them around is preferable (we have seen very clearly that you don’t get that far in this league with a team of European midgets). But, and it’s a big but, Frey’s fitness and availability is poor and I don’t think anyone who has been down there since New Year can tell me Cook’s legs aren’t going going gone. I would only keep them on pretty heftily reduced wedge, and failing that go out and get a few 28-31 year old experienced pros on frees for cheaper who can play the old head role (assuming we’re not looking for 40 game a season starters here). Jimmy aside not fussed about the rest. Think Saito will be a very good player one day but unsure if it will be on these shores.
Out of Contract on 11:20 - Mar 18 with 2524 views | cpgerber | Its a worry that so many (key) defenders are OOC. Potentially we need to replace Dunne, Cook, Paal, Edwards and Fox. All starters or at least featuring regularly. And Ashby leaves, so could be 6 defenders gone. That leaves only injury prone JCS and Morrison who should be on our books. A worrying prospect indeed. I would try to re-sign at least two of the OOC's for some continuity, but it feels like a major defensive rebuild coming up this summer. I wonder if they have Vale earmarked for LB? And a recall for Larkeche looks like a given also. So perhaps LB covered already in case Paal leaves. Edit: Esquerdinha perhaps also in line for some 1st team experience in that position. Overseas clubs can start talking to players that are going out of contract from January. I'm not sure if English clubs can offer a pre contract presently, or if they have to wait until the contract expires.

Or a good opportunity to rebuild from the back?? You could literally put in a new back 4.. However I do like the look of Morrison.

Out of Contract on 15:10 - Mar 18 with 1916 views | BAWHoops | I would imagine that contracts will be offered to Cook, Dunne, Frey and maybe Fox. I'd be surprised if we retain any of the others. I suppose you have two left backs here already for next season in the shape of Vale and Larkeche. Morrison and JCS your starting CB's I guess. The midfield is slightly worrying as Field, Varane, Morgan, Madsen is asking a lot of a 19 year old and asking Madsen to rapidly adapt

Asking Madsen to do anything rapidly is a real stretch. Weirdly though, I have an uncanny, and quite irrational, feeling that he might come good... probably elsewhere.
Out of Contract on 16:21 - Mar 18 with 1735 views | Beckenhamhoop | I’m convinced Dunne will be here next year. He’s clearly settled in Chiswick and appears to genuinely like playing for the club where he is a ‘first on the team sheet type’. Who wants to live in and sit on the bench in Sheffield for example? Out of Contract on 17:06 - Mar 18 with 1613 views | ed_83 | You have to trust that the people running the club know more than we do, but I find the current situation with Dunne bizarre. He's gone out of his way to say he's happy here and wants to stay. He's been one of our most consistent and popular players for the last few years, and an obvious choice to take over as captain if we don't renew Cook's contract. He's only 27 so you could conceivably give him a long-ish renewal and still sell him for a decent fee in a year or two. He covers two positions and has a very decent injury record, which potentially means one less senior player on the wage bill. I know we're operating on a budget but surely, surely there's enough money to make sure that one of our most important players doesn't walk away for nothing? Even if he was in and out of the team until Marti moved him to right back, I find it completely baffling that we didn't treat his contract as a priority in the summer (imagine not signing Santos, and instead adding those costs onto what we could offer Jimmy). The fact he was seemingly willing to go in January makes me worry that he's said he won't renew, but if that's the case then surely you'd be looking for reasons to give other players more minutes, and not putting him front and centre of the club's marketing. Everyone else I can take or leave - I'd personally renew Paal and Frey if given the option, sign Saito if possible, and release the others - but surely Dunne is the one guy we should be moving heaven and earth to keep. My liferaft of hope, is that he’s playing like someone who’s signed a new contract and is sticking around but we just haven’t been told. It would be fcking awful if he’s going at the end of the season, and is just playing that way because he’s an immaculate professional.

He either signed ages ago and the regime are waiting to release ne news to cushion the blow of finishing 16th Or, he's done a pre-contract for one of the larger Champ clubs to get a large signing on fee. But, like you've noticed he's putting in a shift for someone that is half out the door...

2, maybe 3 , that wouldnt be bad. But 6 would be excessive.

Out of Contract on 19:12 - Mar 18 with 1311 views | Superhoops2808 | I think a lot of contract announcements will be when we get to the magical 50 points or when we are officially safe Many many already be dunne and dusted For me of that list: Keep Dunne Cook, Paal, Frey and defo sign Saito Of the others I dont care either way apart from Ashby - Its rare I want to passionately see a player depart but he is one
Out of Contract on 21:29 - Mar 18 with 1145 views | rbee | You have to try and keep players like Fox as a part of your squad. You can't keep making wholesale changes hoping that the new players will be as good or better. We can't afford it anyway. It's a recipe for another poor start to the season. I reckon one of Cook / Fox will stay. Dunne is hoping for a much improved wages elsewhere, which could be possible as he would be a free, but would be a sideways move if he did. Paal - does he want to go back home. He is reasonable enough. Ideally for me, he would be the reserve left back though in the squad. We have no hope of signing Edwards but I would offer terms but it's just never happening sadly. I have a feeling Ashby likely to be moved on by Newcastle but I feel he has the ability and should improve. I think he is performing under his ability levels Would be a risk for ourselves though. Saito, am certain has already signed, otherwise we need to make moves for this to happen a top priority. To be announced at next club forum meeting. برؤبغااءؤلغء رؤيير يب Frey absolutely deserves an Extension. Colback - I think if we sign another, he may leave. Anderson, Madsen, Celar get rid for me. Sorry but re Colback you're not getting very far in the Championship with a 35 year old central midfielder.

Well yeah but Wilkins by and large was fit, not suspended and effective. Colback for the most part has been none of those things.
