| So ..... team for Saturday ? 21:17 - Feb 26 with 1258 views | Logman | Was thinking about this at work but didn't make any progress After a 5-0 defeat you'd normally drop a few players, but not so sure that's an option with so many out. I'm not so sure Sheff Utd is the game to chuck in the Devt Squad players who have been on the bench. Plus with RND not being able to play we are already going to be risking LB. I'm really hoping that Saito re-emerges from his fallow period but I am not confident. Think I'd be tempted to start Morgan and Varane in midfield purely for more energy than Hayden Walsh Mbengue Esquerdinha Varane Dunne Edwards Vale Morgan Saito Kone Kolli Subs: Nardi, Adamson, JCS, Smith, Alemaheyu, Bennie, Hayden, Pearman | | | | |

| So ..... team for Saturday ? on 05:30 - Feb 27 with 939 views | QPROslo | I wouldn't be starting Morgan because he'd most probably pass the ball more to SU players than our own, including in particular in our own half. I wouldn't start Walsh either, Hamer for his competence with crosses for this game though normally I think we should be using Nardi. The suggestions of going 3 / 5 at the back on another thread make sense to me so: Hamer M'Bengue, Dunne, Edwards or JCS, Cook, Esquardinha Vale, Varanne, Haden or Saito Kone, Benny | | | |

That with Kolli for Benny. Not great though is it!
| So ..... team for Saturday ? on 08:46 - Feb 27 with 761 views | numptydumpty | Walsh Dunne Cook Edwards Mbengue Esquerdinha Vale Varane Morgan Kolli Kone Bench: Hamer, Adamson, JCS, Smith, Hayden, Saito, Bennie, and last three untried development players. So three at the back with wing backs approach. | |

He seems to have stopped trying too hard to impress in the recent games, and looked more like the player we watched and were impressed by last year. Seeing Kolli listed here and not discussed post Southampton. He wasn't awful in a first half we controlled from the 15th min til Madson's injury around the 40th min. My gut is he was feeling something, or injured, so was pulled off. Might not see him tomorrow...

They’ve got a hell of a team on paper and if they don’t complete the late charge into the playoffs will have massively underachieved. God knows what we go with. Surely not Esquerdinha in a 4-4-2 behind Saito. Perhaps JCS at left-back but hard to chuck even him in basically cold and you’d think giving Esq half an hour on Tuesday is with a view to playing him. Of the poor options available assuming no Smyth/Chair I’d go: Mbengue Dunne Edwards JCS Vale Morgan Hayden Varane Esquerdinha Kone | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Take Walsh out for a game or two and let Hamer have a go. We are likely to play Esquerdinha or Adamson, so I would definitely agree with three at the back, Edwards, Dune, Clarke-Salter and wingbacks with Mbengue on the right. Cook to come on for JCS after 45-60 mins. I think Saito and Kone should be given a break on the bench. Morgan, Hayden and Varane in midfield. Vale just behind Kolli up top. I'd be pleasantly surprised if Julian does change from 442.

I think you need your better, more experienced players to change systems. To ask one rookie full back and a converted CB to suddenly play wing backs in a five with three CBs who've never played together, plus a midfield who are not used to each other or the system... It would be suicidal from Stephan, and a big red flag if he got hammered doing it. Players can easily adapt to a 442, but wing backs is a whole new thing. Certainly would need a week on the training pitch, surely! There's a good argument for it with JCS fit after a preseason of practice (but what happens to all our little wingers? Bin 'em?). But feels Football Manager 26 to suddenly switch after a midweek hammering. All for adding a midfielder, though!

If they don't go up this season then next season is the last parachute payment. A future WBA in the making

Fit to start I’d have thought. Fit to finish perhaps not but at Charlton and Hull he looked gone then finished strongly.

If they fail to make the play-offs, then the blame lies full square at the door of Sheffield United's board who decided to sack Wilder after finishing a clear third on 90 points but losing out in the lottery of a play-off final. If he were there at the start of the season, they'd now be comfortably placed in a play-off spot. Definitely worried for tomorrow as a QPR fan.
