I thought Colback had a excellent game today , easy my man of the match , some of his passes were sublime. Well done Jack and I don't think he got booked , which is a miracle considering the useless Ref we had!!

I agree he was my MOTM. Tenacious and energetic throughout.

Frey was my man of the match. He put in an incredible shift and gave us hope up front all game.

I thought Colback and Edwards both did well but neither made any surging runs forward like Varane can on occasions.

Yes but Colback can turn and pass ,unlike most of our other players.

Not for .me next year though

As much a liability as an asset.

Can be often brain dead, pen he gave away recently and a walking red card at times.

Not fit enough often enough also.

Put him out to pasture next season

I thought he was pretty good yesterday too, maybe our best player, though Cook, Dunne, Paal, Smyth, Edwards and Saito were also right up there. Don't think any anyone, subs included, had a bad game either.

Have to admit Leeds supporters singing "you ginger bàstard, get out of the sun" did make me chuckle

Experience was key yesterday. The older pros stepped up big time . Fox and Cook played particularly well although some of Cook’s “Barbet diags “went a bit wrong .

Yeah, thought he was great yesterday. However, we've got to think carefully about how we use our budget next season. For me, the priorities are more pace, more aggression and a quality striker. If Eze goes this summer, then we're in a better position. As good as Colback played yesterday, I just don't see how we can justify his wages. We've got to be scouting better and identifying a similar, younger player with sell-on potential.

I had him just about our top man. His best performance of the season.

Must say it's the first time Leeds fans have ever brought a smile to my face with that chant

I thought we were really poor in possession yesterday, and when we didn't have the ball watched Colback & Edwards closely,

I thought Colback was good but Edwards was very good,

Leeds were cutting inside and looking for that slide rule inside pass and those two were manning the breaches throughout that 2nd Half.

Either of those two were worthy MOTM, with a mention for Fox and also Dunne who maybe recklessly tried to score a late winner but was one of the very few who had the courage to put his foot on the ball all game.

Edward’s is very interesting to watch.

At times he really looked uncomfortable and a bit lost in that unaccustomed CDM role whilst at the same time played very well.

Mystery how Southampton can’t find a place for him.

Colback was on it yesterday, largely our most experienced pros out there yesterday, seemed to inspire him more.

I get where your coming from mate, but when I watch him I can see a really good player at times, what we really need is a younger version of him but that don't come cheap.

Yes agree with the majority here. Had a decent game Colback. It was imperative after Tuesday and he and Edwards did pretty well in there

Not sure I agree, time and time again Leeds got in down our left and 3 v 2 with Colback late to the party with him being the LCM. I think he had a very good last 20 minutes mind you

Surely that was the job of Paal and Saito?

I actually think that's part of the tactics. We defend the width of the penalty box and concede the wings.

Colback is a decent player for us without doubt. He passes good balls, mainly in tight areas of the pitch, well weighted, rarely gives it away and covers well, shows up for the ball a lot which helps the team massively. He goes about his work very quietly and it does not get noticed, only by the few, MC being one of them and I would also expect many of the players know full well how good he is. He talks to the new boys during the match as well. Just watch the game back and just watch what he does for our midfield, and it just wasn't yesterday. He is very decent and a real shame he is aging but still one of our best midfield players.

As for yesterday, arguably his best game of the season.

Not sure why so many think he is on 'big wages', yes I know his second year of his contract earned him more but how posters know actually how much I do not know.

The big question is if we give him another year, very tough call indeed but there is no doubt in my mind that he still has the necessary in his locker to do a good job for us.

Not when its 3 v 2, when Field plays LCM he will come across, Colback did it better in the last 20 minutes of the game than he had been doing earlier

Not so sure it was Colback's role to make the third man......why do you think it was?? Sure Paal & Kaito were the left sided players, not sure Colback was the 3rd player.

If you watched the game reply you will see that Colback played very well throughout and not just the last 20 minutes!!!

Yesterday Colback had the experience & know-how but not the youth & legs,

Edwards the opposite & they complimented each other perfectly and secured a much needed point,

A 2-3 defeat after our 2 great goals could have led to a crisis in confidence at the worse possible time.

Without the 'legs' he would not have had a very good last 20 minutes!!!! He gets around the park ok otherwise he would have been replaced.

He manages his running, which he was able to do with his sideman Edwards running his nuts off Sam Field style.

Yep, and plenty of managers get their teams doing that. Michael the mole Beale got us playing that way.

Really!!!.....not the way I saw it.

Bottom line is that he was 'still going strong' at 90 minutes......and that is down to Jack Colback and nobody else.
